Zero Stars - SAFETY FIRST, IHOP. What is with the poor lighting? Is that IHOP broke, or in poor standing with the electric company? It was very dim inside of the restaurant for about 3:45 p.m. in the afternoon. I never placed an order.
SAFETY FIRST, IHOP. Your Closer (closing server), a Hispanic female, about middle aged and about 5' 5" with a plump build, has NO CONCEPT OF SAFETY FIRST, CLEANLINESS, HEALTH HAZARD, HAZARDS, CUSTOMER READY, or anything else. She has excuses for piling up everyone on top of each other, plus for her lack of what it is to serve food nor how to be a good server.
First, she doesn't allow for choice of seating. She piles up the customers on top of one another, to keep herself from having to clear and clean different sections and stations.
I asked for iced tea right off, but with a few extra lemon slices. She returned with the glass of iced tea, but with one lemon slice on the lip of the glass. I asked her for a few more slices. I waited ten minutes before I got up and went to the counter, because she was in the kitchen. Before I went, I saw her taking the order of a more recent customer than I. I let her know that I asked her for extra lemon, twice, plus a table spilled water and it was running all over the floor. SAFETY FIRST. Her EXCUSE was, "I am the only waitress..." I interjected saying that I have waited tables, and at different types of restaurants and in fine dining banquets. The Closer is is supposed to be the best or at least very good and able to handle EVERYTHING that is required. I asked her to get that table a mop, first, and then the lemon slices that I asked for. I returned to my table and she followed to speak with another table (Hispanic), and the table that had the toddler that was roaming around.
The waitress/server is juvenile and irresponsible. She asked if I am ready to order. I said to get that table a mop, first -- SAFETY FIRST. She asked, again, if I am ready to order. I said, again, to get that table a mop. That went on for four times, before she walked away in a huff -- juvenile.
SAFETY FIRST, PLUS GOOD SERVICE. Neither was apparent at that IHOP, today, on Thanksgiving Day 2024. I was still standing from having gone to the counter, but I was back at my table. I picked up my purse, and I left.
I never ordered. SAFETY FIRST, AND GOOD SERVICE, which also includes courtesy and respect. All of which is lacking in that server and at this IHOP location.
This review is the result, plus the fact that I shall never return. It had been more than five years, before today, from the last time that I was there. It will be never ever after. I will also personally verbally tell everyone that I can not to go there, because of service, but mainly because of health hazard, cleanliness, and safety.
I'll say it because it's what I see and what I have experienced. I used to frequent this IHOP when I lived across the street from it, about 15 years ago. It was clean, friendly, good and prompt service, good and safe to eat food... The difference was the Race. It was managed and service was by White and sometimes Black Americans, who have American customs and style. America and American customs, culture and style is being overrun by Hispanic/Latino and other culture and style, despite that most are U. S. born. No. I am not a supporter of the newest President Elect. I have watched and listened my entire life. I say what I see and experience. It is true culture divide. Also, Middle America - Midwest, is NOT the Southwest. Keep those traditions and cultures there, in Mexico, and in South America.
Moreover, your server is irresponsible and juvenile. She should not be a closing server. She requires restaurant safety, cleanliness, and hazard training & food & beverage carry. Her juvenile manner and irresponsibility should be cause of her release. She does not serve IHOP nor this particular IHOP any good. I would not have her on staff. I hope that I do not have her again, as a waitress, at any other restaurant. I know that I will not have her again at IHOP, because I...
Read moreMultiple issues.
First issue was the table was not clean, there was something resembling egg yolks on the table.
Next issue was there was cheese on and under my salmon. The waitress took it back.
We completely finished the other meal that we ordered before the new salmon was brought back. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were cold. They were the original ones and had not been kept hot.
She was going to take the whole plate back but I wanted to eat the salmon fresh and hot so she agreed to just go get fresh sides.
There's multiple ads that kids eat free 4 to 10. We checked out around 6:30 pm . My child's meal was not rung up free. I had to show the waitress one of the signs visible from the checkout in order to get her to get someone to fix this.
The "refill" my child ordered for a blue raspberry lemonade splasher (lemonade, sprite and blue raspberry syrup with a couple blueberries sprinkled on top) was charged. If it doesn't have free refills perhaps mention that upon ordering the first one or at least when ordering a refill.
Next, drinks are advertised as $2 during "Ihoppy hour" from 3 to 9. Again it's 6:30. It says coffee and soda are included. I didn't expect the splasher to be included but I did expect to get the coffee and mt dew for $2.
Instead I was charged full price and told I needed to have ordered my food off the happy hour menu and not $14-16 full meals in order to get the ADVERTISED sale price because this is how the manager says to do it.
We are having to eat our meals out at the moment and have eaten at IHOP 3 times this past week including this time.
Neither time before were we charged for a refill on the drink but last time as well they tried charging for the kids meal.
The last time, my child burnt their hand on the hot water in the bathroom and the manager got burn spray and made sure we got some ice. The water is pretty hot if you put it to only hot.
The first visit was outside of happy hour and kids eat free so the amount charged was correct and the service was great.
This time was disappointing, not having all our meals at once, then getting cold food, then being overcharged repeatedly and the only thing corrected was the...
Read moreIn the time of covid, this place has gone way downhill. We ordered over a week ago for the holiday breakfast buffet and it was supposed to be ready at 11 am on Christmas day. I pulled up, called them (right at 11), and they said it wasn't ready yet and they would bring it out when it was. I figured ok fine, they were really busy so i figured they were running behind.
Fast forward 30 min later, no call, no one had come out so i tried calling multiple times. I tried 3-4 times and it was busy every time. Finally i just went in and there were about 8 people inside waiting, not socially distanced and they had a table blocking off the entrance. There was no one up there helping anyone and i asked if they called out my name. One of the people waiting said they called my name a couple times so i found my bag, grabbed it and left.
Got home, checked the order because i was too mad to do it there after being there 45 min, and the extra fixings that were supposed to come with the pancakes were missing. Plus the pancakes were dry. Word of advice to the restaurant: if you're going to have a holiday deal give priority to the people that ordered a week ago and be prepared for it to get busy and staff accordingly. This place shut down when the pandemic started and i think is under new management now but it's gone from bad to worse because it was never great. I would say avoid...
