Today I experienced one of the WORST customer service. They told me "I don't care we're too busy" when I asked to let manager know about a feedback, including this was not ther usual standard of food or service. The conversation started with several points that led to my absolute disappointment. THIS FACILITY CLEARLY LACKS RESPECT.
I have been eating their rice for several years after confirming each time that their rice is vegan/vegetarian, including the liquid it was cooked in. Today they told me they've always had chicken broth for the rice. The registrar (Vivian) said "I don't know what to say." Maybe an apology for breaking someone's religion!
When I asked if they're able to make vegetarian burritos without rice and asked what else comes in it, they said cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and beans. Once I pay for it, I asked if they had changed their prices. I was then told hey charged by mistake for things that are included in veggie burrito. So i inquired whatelse is included in the burrito. I'm told it could have sour cream, guacamole, or any of the above extra so the burrito is bigger since there is no rice. This is before the food is picked up but after paid for. It would be nice to know ahead of time to let me enjoy the food and save you an upset customer. I asked if they can put it on the side. They said no. So I asked if they can open the burrito and put it on the inside, they said inside is ok but when I opened the burritos at home, there was no guacamole as asked. The veggie burrito had 2 pieces of tomatoes, 10 skimpy strands of lettuce, no cheese visible, and few spoons of beans. Either Covid has made them skimp on their high standards or management has changed. Their burritos in the past were always stuffed with cheese and lettuce.
So I called them to say I wish their food was better and that I hope my feedback helps them improve it, clearly stating I was not calling to ask for refund but just some feedback. After 10 minutes of explaining, the phone got passed to Vivian who then talked to her manager for another 10 minutes. She said you can bring the food back if you're not happy. I said okay its been 20 minutes of unnecessarily lengthy discussion and I have already cut lettuce, tomatoes, made my own guacamole, added cheese and grilled the burritos. Whats the point in me bringing the burritos back. I don't need refund. Just needed to get an apology for the terrible service. I asked if she can just relay my feedback to her manager and I was told "No, we are busy." I said I would write all of it on a review. "Do what you want" and the phone was disconnected by them.
Before the 3rd point, I would have still gone back but clearly they don't care for their reputation. THEY DONT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. I would hope that someone from the management reads this and improves their customer service and food. LEARN TO TREAT PEOPLE...
Read moreA great place to have a late night meal, open super late. Food has been excellent each and every time I've visited, though not a fan of their chicken cuts. Horchata affectionately called rice water here, and all prices here are reasonable. Security is present in the evening, but they aren’t bothersome.
You’ll find some of the most delicious steak burritos in the northwest suburbs here. They’ve managed to strike a great balance between tomatoes, lettuce, beans and steak that I haven’t seen from other restaurants.
Dropped a star, because on my most recent visit I was treated rather poorly. I ordered my food at the counter and sat down. A minute or two afterwords, a waitress asked me to stand up at to stay near the counter because I ordered my food to go. It wasn’t a busy time and there were plenty of tables and booths available for other patrons. Ironically, me standing up led the wait staff bumping into me several times, as the only space available alongside the counter was a space holding utensils for the waitstaff. My order was briefly lost, but found again on a plate ready to serve, despite me asking it to be to go.
Also, on a seperate visit, I had a chicken burrito and it was awful. It had to have been the way they had cooked it, or the parts they used, but it was completely unappetizing.
Even with those two mishaps being a bit of a disappointment, Los Burritos Tapitos is still a fantastic place to eat if you ask me. Definitely...
Read moreTucked away in a Streamwood strip mall, near the familiar red sign of Giordano's, lies Los Burritos Tapatíos, a culinary gem quietly delighting those who find it. I was immediately impressed by the finely chopped toppings – a vibrant confetti of onions and cilantro – and the enticing sizzle of the freshly cooked meats. I downgraded my food vote to 4 stars because the chicken and steak were a little overcooked and crumbly and while I don't mind a little crunch, I think that could be improved. What truly elevates this spot are the complimentary salsas. The chipotle option unfolds with a smoky warmth that deepens into an almost chocolatey spice, a truly satisfying complexity. However, my personal favorite was the lime & cilantro salsa. Its bright, citrusy notes melded beautifully with a creamy texture, perfectly accentuating the rich flavor of the steak. Even the often-overlooked sides of rice and beans were thoughtfully seasoned and expertly prepared. The refried beans, in particular, stood out. Far from the soupy, watered-down versions often found at other taco joints, these were genuinely hearty and tasted distinctly homemade. They also have a simple menu, with perfected recipes of burritos, tortas and other options. They're open pretty late on weekdays, which was helpful after a long day. I know I'll be returning and making this one of my...
