Edit for 10/09/2021:
I wanted to go have dinner there solo for my 23rd birthday, to treat myself. The host embarrassed me within 2 minutes of walking in. this was around 5:30pm. She asked me for how many, I told her, and she raised her voice to alert not only the server, but the whole restaurant that," This Big Boy needs a table!". The who dining room swung their heads to look at me and I turned heal and left. I am not normally sensitive on being 250lb, I'm working with success on that front( down 45lb over a year). It made me feel I could not sit down and order, especially the all you can eat sushi after being called that name. I lowered my ranking to two stars since I did like the place a bit before. Just a terrible embarrassing experience on my birthday none the less.

Lunch was very good. Our service and server was quick. the two of us got the all you can eat lunch sushi. They did stipulate that we would be charged for leftovers(which is understandable to keep people aware of the food they order), $1 a piece that is to be wrapped up. I would suggest to the owner/manager lowering it to 50 cents or at least 75 cents a piece of unfinished sushi or rolls since that would be awesome to take home, possibly stimulating even more revenue from guests asking to take an order or two home after the initial all you can eat sushi. This is just a suggestion to make a great sushi place even better by taking those memorable rolls and sushi home. My favorite was the Spicy Tuna Roll.
Décor had some effort put into it. I know people care primarily about the food, but to anyone who wants to make sure they are in a comfortable place, it checks the box. no torn seats, clean, etc.
while it isn't the treat that Minami Sushi is, they both cater to separate audiences. While Minami is a nicer place, more variety in rolls, a once in a while great treat, Oishi caters to the person who would eat lunch regularly there. If your lookin for a good lunch, or want to have a casual date night, this is...
Read moreI love it here, so far. I've been here twice, for lunch, both on Saturday. For how great the food tastes and how amazing the service is, I'm surprised it hasn't been busier during lunch service.
I've had the same waiter twice who is just a very attentive, friendly gentleman (I'm gonna try and get his name next time). When you put your name on your order slip, he makes an effort to remember it and call you by your name every time he swings by and asks you if you need anything.
The food is easily 4.5/5. Every roll I've had has been tasty, made to order, and lacks the ocean taste some places get when their fish is too old.
Why isn't it a 5/5? I just wish there were one or two more items. From other places, my go to is a Tuna Gunkan nigiri, which this place doesn't have. The appetizer selection, while plentiful, doesn't strike me as that interesting. You have your basics like squid calamari, miso soup, and edamame, but other places have shrimp tempura and takoyaki as well. I'm just being nitpicky, but that's part of the review, and why I say 4.5/5.
Even if it's missing a handful of items I would like to get, if you like all you can eat sushi, this place will satisfy you. The price is insanely reasonable, the food is delicious, and the service is the best. I'm glad I found this place after moving to Schaumburg.
I've been here twice in under a month and I certainly will be returning...
Read moreIf I could rate lower I would. The server asked me roughly 6 times if I was sure about how much I was ordering as I can put in multiple tickets for all you can eat. I explained yes I am aware and he was worried that I wouldn’t finish. Normally it takes me 1-2 minutes to eat a 8 piece roll at a time. I ordered a total of 39 pieces and everything was going swimmingly, however… the gross factor is what threw me off. It’s not that I couldn’t finish my food, it’s that I didn’t want to. We started to look closer as some of our rolls had fish in them that were not on the menu, the firecracker had chunks of eel in it. As we pulled out the mystery grey chunk you could see several small bones from the unagi. I flipped over a shrimp tempura roll only for the shrimp to be yellow and green inside. The more we inspected, the worse it got. However the hostess was super kind and pleasant, the cooks got our food out in a timely manner, the atmosphere is beautiful, the appetizers were delicious, the plating was really delicate and well done, and everyone was friendly. I wouldn’t say you shouldn’t try it, I would say everyone has their own experiences and lots of people seemed to enjoy the...
