El Pato Mexican Food — Restaurant in Harlingen

Came back 8•11•24 and wanted breakfast but came at lunchtime. I was so disappointed I got potatoes and egg and man they were still raw, hard and very shysty with egg. Idk what is happening, El Pato, but your cooks are not the same. You didn't take care of your prior cooks, the females that were there for yrs. They were the ones that made it good. (No offense to men), but your staff at this location were always the same ladies. Now it is awful. Not to mention, I got a chorizo and egg and was so wet and greasy when you never have it like that, just a mess. My error was I didn't take a pic for my proof but got the pic for the barbacoa now let me tell you it had a funky taste and for sure it's not barbacoa idk what it is but was so dissapointed this time. If yall keep this up, you're gonna lose business. I always drive 45 min just to come here. But how it was back then, it was so worth it. Now I'm having doubts and not coming back. Idk about other customer opinions, but this was my experience. If you're not up to the mood of making breakfast, then don't serve it if you're just gonna be sloppy. And we get stuck paying for aweful food. Or just change your menu breakfast only mornings, but don't advertise breakfast all day, and you get what you get and client be all ticked off. That's not good El pato. Well, I hope they retrain or do something. Your cooks do not care how they do things, and it is gonna be a huge impact on horrible buisness at this very location. It is not the cashiers fault your food is cold, under/over cooked it is the cooks fault. Cashiers just charge and greet clients. Just making that clear. Then they apologize for the cooks when they shouldn't. Down graded the stars from 5☆ down to 3☆ and that is my reason.

Came in for a quick bite and had the chicken Enchiladas they were good. Still is a hit!. Still like my Pato with beef, cheese & and avocado 😋

Pato is very good, always pretty good servings. The pato tacos are pretty pricey, guys, but they are good. The bake potato is OMG, no joke, yet Delish for the price wow amazing I will order it again. When my buds are craving it. As usual, I ordered my Pato taco Beef/cheese/Avocado. I love this one, and my husband orders the guisado plate. So yes, food is pretty decent, always fresh. The place is always clean, clean restroom and staff is always nice. I travel about 30 minutes to this place to come and have a good meal, either breakfast, lunch or dinner. I recommend it, and yet it's pretty packed on drive-thru. But it's ok. I dine in. May I mention that breakfast here is always on the menu? Breakfast is not only for breakfast. You can have it any hour of the day, and I recommend it. Very delish plates and breakfast tacos chorizo and egg w cheese, potato egg, and cheese. My plate was the chicharon with egg, refried beans, side potatoes, and flour tortillas very good. But idk last three 3x's I've come they don't carry Pico de Gallo idk what's the deal. I go there every Saturday and Sundays Morning.. My son is autistic nonverbal and only eats five variety of foods one of his choice is egg from here. A parent with a special needs child especially from the spectrum understands what I'm coming from When the food is not the way you want it. I went this morning and I usually get this young girl that takes my order that knows exactly how I want it and does a excellent job giving me my order correct she wasn't in today.. so I got a different lady I have seen her before she has got my order in the past wrong. Well today they got it wrong I usually get a breakfast plate which is just premixed scrambled egg but I want it cook to order.. but received crack egg which my son doesn't like that texture they fixed it when she was showing me the premixed egg I told yes that's right when she was tieing the bag I asked is it cook to order she shook her head and said Yes I took her word when I got home egg wasn't even fresh it was cold and trust me when I ask for cook to order egg and when I get home it still hot.. I just wish the young girl was there today so yes my son didn't eat it. he has a sensory in his mouth that only eats certain texture foods and hot.. trust me I would cook at home but my child struggles to eat only eats egg from here this mom has to make...

Came by to have lunch with my daughter while she was on her lunch break from college. We waited 29 minutes to get our food. Our order was places at 11:18 am got our food at 11:47. Saw everyone in the drive-thru getting their orders while we sat waiting. Very upset at how long it took. We wanted our money back but we are all about helping local businesses. I don't think I'll be back. They had plenty of employees and some of them seemed to just be standing around and talking. One employee sat near us (well after we sat down) on their lunch break and got their order way before ours. Maybe it's a perk of working there. I don't recommend stopping in, maybe order out. I don't believe the food was worth the wait nor the 18 dollars I spent for 2 of us. Our order was 2 ham and egg tacos/ chips with queso and an enchilada plate. Next time we will go to Tejano Grill.
