Worst experience at Burger King today! I haven't eaten there in many years. I decided to give them another shot because of the new chicken sandwich that I saw on tv. It looked amazing. I signed up for a rewards account because they had a coupon for it. I created an online order for the Tyler store. When I arrived there to get my food, they told me that they had run out of the chicken. They said that the location on Ed Carey still had it, so I headed over there. I tried to do another online order and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to go through. It kept saying that my credit card information was incorrect even though I tried three different forms of payment. I arrived at the Ed Carey location and asked about the online order issue. They told me they did not accept the rewards program or online orders at that store. I was trying to order my food and the digital menu boards stopped working. So, I asked about specific toppings on the sandwiches. The employee didn't seem to know what was on them without looking at the board. After placing my order, I was told that the credit card machine wasn't working. I took my food to the car and decided that I better double check the order since there was confusion about what was supposed to be on the sandwiches. One of my toppings was missing. I went back in the restaurant and it felt like it was 130° in there. I asked what happened and 2 employees said the AC went out. I called the manager later and inquired about the AC. He told me it was so hot in there because they needed to put a tinted film on the drive-thru window. I don't know a lot about the effectiveness of that kind of window treatment, but I don't see how the temperature could go up that much in 5 minutes from the lack of it. The only good part of this story is that the new Ch'King sandwich tastes as awesome as it looks on tv. It is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had! I do need to mention though that they are not all created equally. We got 2 regular ones and a spicy deluxe. My spicy was fantastic, but I had them add pickles and cheese. I think that took it over the top for me. Not sure I would have it liked it as much without the extras. The 2 regular ones looked pretty sad. The chicken breasts were half the size of the spicy. It's possible that the regular sandwich breast isn't as big as the deluxe. Also, there was zero sauce on the regulars. I will continue to frequent Burger King as long as they continue to offer that sandwich and the quality doesn't go downhill. But, I will never visit the Ed Carey...
Read moreHaven’t had BK in years, no specific reason just didn’t crave it, this location had some controversy with an infestation a couple years back and since then I’ve noticed not a lot of people go by there anymore, literally empty every time I see the parking lot and I pass it on a daily basis since I live in the area and it’s on my way home. That being said today I decided to give them a shot at redemption since I was for some reason craving some, you cannot understand the level of regret I have. We went wanting chicken fries and apparently they were out, no biggie they were nice enough to sub for nuggets. Ordering went well, no issues. Food came out exactly how we ordered, it was warm, I’ll give them that, however the bread was stale, the bacon was rubbery as if it had been sitting for a while, the fries were stale as well and had a nasty aftertaste and the nuggets were either old or extremely overcooked because the outside of them was hard to bite into. In simpler terms, my food was most likely old and they just heated it up or kept it in the warming lights. The fact that I know that it is always empty would make me think they’d want to provide quality product when someone does come by to bring them back, I was wrong. I’m aware that most fast food places pre-make their food beforehand to provide fast service but this BK doesn’t get a lot of service as is, how long are those burgers and fries and nuggets sitting there before someone comes and orders it. I don't know if I’ll order BK anytime soon BUT I know that I’ll never choose this location again.
TL;DR: Food was stale and old, never...
Read moreWe went to dine in. My husband ordered the whopper meal combo with an extra whopper sandwich. I ordered the fish sandwich meal combo. The person taking our order didn't ask what size we wanted, just automatically rang them up as smalls. The wild cherry freeze was NOT a freeze. It wasn't even slushie thick. It was syrupy but foamy. When I got my fish sandwich and opened it up it looked like they either over cooked it or the oil was definitely old (I use to work in the food industry so I can recognize by looking at what it does to the breading. I took it back to the counter to show the employee. She stated that they had just changed the oil the day before. She offered to make me another. I said 1 more try (in case it was an accident and it was left in too long). The 2nd sandwich came out looking identical to the first (I opened it without leaving the counter). That says old oil. So the employee lied to me or they don't filter the oil. I stated I'd take a whopper sandwich (since it was whopper Wednesday). I got attitude when I asked for price correction (fish sandwich was more expensive than the whopper on Whopper Wednesdays). Change was made though. The whopper (even with all the fixings) was still dried out. I don't for see me returning to THAT particular BK. Especially if they don't care that the food doesn't even...
