Bad Daddy's Burger Bar — Restaurant in Harrisburg

So I've been here twice (once a month or so after the grand opening) and this past Saturday and here goes.

My first trip was okay - service was incredibly slow (had I not gotten an appetizer and beer I would have probably cared more). I ordered a rare burger, which ended up completely raw (I wasn't particularly surprised as this is the hardest thing for any place to do properly, so I really blame myself). Rest of the food was fantastic and my server noticed my barely eaten burger and on his own, talked to the manager and got me a card for a free burger on my next visit - both the manager at the server were great about the whole thing (I never said a word - they did this of their own accord). My fries, my wife's chicken burger, my queso was all fantastic. Figured I'd give it a little while, and come back at a later and less busy date.

Fast forwarding, I was finally in the area not long after they opened (around 11:30am) on Saturday. I had my free card with me, so my wife and I decided to go. First off, once again, incredibly slow (I ordered my one free burger, fries, and a beer), it took 47 minutes for me to get them (there was no wait - I was seated immediately and plenty of open tables). For the most part the wait staff was simply standing around staring at the kitchen waiting for food or helping them. My waitress was okay, though I'm surprised I never once got the "sorry we're slow today" line; she basically just ignored us and disappeared the whole time (I didn't need anything, but still, I usually like the comforting lie that my food will be there soon). But she was pleasant and whatnot, so nothing to complain about really.

The disappointing part was that when I did finally get my burger - it was wrong. Horrifically wrong? No, but several items from my burger checklist (some of which were an additional fee - so imagine if I was actually paying for it) were nowhere to be found. So after the incredibly long wait it was wrong - again. My waitress noticed, and once again took it upon herself to talk to the manager, who again comped my burger, and gave me another free one. This is all well and good, but it's just not worth it. The prices are too premium for too sub-par of a service and for such a long, long wait. Again, when the food is good, it's GOOD. But at an hour and fifteen minutes for the visit, ordering only one entree and the fact i eat food as fast as I can, is just way too slow.

2/2020- Sadly I feel like Bad Daddy’s has taken a bit of a turn. I don’t know if they’re having a hard time staffing their kitchen or what, but I’ve gone twice In the last few months only to wait an unreasonable amount of time just to see a server and then just an unimaginable amount of time before getting food. The server did not at all seam to recognize that the food was taking longer than is reasonable and offered no updates/apology while we waited. In fact, he consistently forgot to bring my glass of water and I eventually gave up and asked another server because when my food had arrived (finally) it had the incorrect spicy dressing and I still needed a drink!!

On my most recent trip, again, food took forever but our server was very engaged/apologetic and at least ensured we had refills of drinks and such. When food finally arrived it was all cold! However our server Was very proactive in making it right, she had our whole bill comped without us even having to ask and she arranged for an entire new order which we got packaged to go since it’d been so long. She even got us free milkshakes! So overall on that night I got the feeling our server was doing everything possible and the kitchen just wasn’t keeping up.

Hopefully Bad Daddy’s is just having a hard time right now/ is short staffed in the kitchen because I know they can do better but lately, not impressed!

6/2018- Finally got to grab a bite at a Real Bad Daddy's and it did not disappoint! (I'm a long time fan of the location in terminal C of CLT). As a vegetarian, you wouldn't think I'd be in love with a burger place but let me tell you, Bad Daddy's Knows how to make a slammin black bean burger. On this last trip my mom and I decided to get some cocktails for a little more fun and they were Amazing. updated Food wrong three times in a row now. Server was awesome, but I don't see a point in wasting time reading back the build your own Burger sheet to make sure it's accurate if the kitchen is gonna miss ingredients off the sheet anyway.

Server confirmed that I ordered sauteed wild mushrooms and bacon. Burger came but neither was on there. The manager fixed the bacon when I mentioned it but acted like it was my fault when I mentioned the mushrooms were also missing. I sat there with my dissected Burger for 5+ minutes. By the time I got both ingredients that I had to add myself and then rebuild the burger it was cold. I order it rare and bunless so waiting 5 minutes for the missing ingredients means it doesn't have much heat to lose before becoming cold. Not an issue if it's made right the first time. They didn't even comp the burger, just the toppings that they missed and no real apology either, even some irritation at me letting them know they made the mistake. Mistakes happen and no reason to be upset and I wasn't, but how you deal with them makes the difference. They didn't handle it well in my opinion. They messed up and that's not my fault, why be irritated at me bringing it up?

Also when I left a 4 star review last time the owner reached out telling me to email some feedback. I emailed it the same day but the email address appears to be wrong. Whatever.

Really disappointed with this location. I'm usually a huge advocate for Bad Daddy's and go there often, but I won't be recommending it anymore. 3 times in a row that I'm embarrassed they get either my food or a friend's food wrong. It's not like there isn't 190+ other restaurants on Concord Mills Blvd to go to or anything who can make their food right or treat...
