Ordered a chicken cheesesteak combo with cheese fries and a cheesesteak to go. Their servings aren't consistent. I was unfortunate enough to pay extra for lettuce on my chicken cheesesteak which inhibited the kitchen from putting the same amount of meat on my small sub as they did my coworker who also purchased a small sub. It was a huge difference in the amount of meat on my sandwhich. It's expected that I lose space for meat but not that much. Most of my bites consisted of lettuce and bread. Also, if a large sub to-go doesnt fit in one wrapper you would think that they would double wrap it so that the ends are covered. Frustrated is an understatement when I purchase from a place that nickels and dimes me on simple toppings like lettuce and tomato. Ask for the lettuce on the side so you can spare yourself the frustration of paying $9 for a small combo plus the price of adding toppings only for the toppings to take over the sandwhich. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the flavor is there and it is hard to come by decent bread. I expected more from this place based on the reviews. Maybe it was a fluke. However, play it safe and do not pay the charge for lettuce because you will get more of that than anything else on...
Read more,Ok...I have never had a cheese steak in Philadelphia and I seldom have one topped the traditional way. I like MTL and melted Provolone. I ordered a #1 which is a small cheese steak. (about 7"), fries and refillable soda for $8.50.
If you like juicy, shaved beef with melted cheese on a fresh roll, you MUST have lunch here when visiting the Capitol Complex.
PSH recently reopened from COVID shutdown and I had pent up craving for its cheese steak. Oh it did not disappoint.
It's a lunch joint that caters to Commonwealth employees that is only open until 2:00 and only on weekdays. That's not a shortened schedule due to COVID or labor issues. That's its hours. A fact I lamented every time I wanted to grab a sandwich after work.
Pssss...there is also a PSH in Camp Hill if you have a weekend craving but its sandwiches seem inferior. I visited Camp Hill once and have no desire to return. I know where to get the best in Harrisburg. PSH at the...
Read moreWow! Wow! Wow! Looking to eat a genuine philly? Look no further! This is your spot right here! The bread was soft, meat was tender just enough cheese whiz so it doesn't over power the other flavors! Hot and fresh! The onion rings where crispy and delicious as well. I tried the cherry pepper for the first time and it was good and went well with the philly. The pepper is slightly spicy but sweet at the same time. The spice level would be a 1 maybe a 2 put of 10. I got there about 40 minutes before they closed so it was empty besides one other person but left shortly after. It was quite and peaceful but I can imagine the rush during lunch. It is in an old building so it has that wonderful look and feel. Check...
