Went into the capitol for breakfast because the free breakfast at the Fairfield by Marriott Harrisburg wasn’t worth the price & basically Roxy's Cafe was pretty much the quickest all day breakfast spot my husband found. We arrived at 11am, had a full breakfast but they were also serving lunch. Glad we didn’t let the rundown look of the place prevent us from getting a decent breakfast. Seems they do diner food really well to a loyal local clientele. I had the eggwich with a bacon and cheese add, hearty breakfast sandwich that was on point with a fried egg. Hubby had one of their specialty breakfasts, that included sourdough French Toast, Eggs and bacon. The French Toast was beautiful, I would have ordered it if real maple syrup was available vs. “pancake” syrup. Eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. Probably want to skip the OJ but the coffee’s good. Our server was super friendly and professional, knowing many customers by name. The staff was very welcoming in general. Could’ve done without Fox News on the TV, but that’s a personal preference. Couldn’t quite bring myself to walk down the scary basement stairs to use the restroom. Not sure if we will be back to that corner of Harrisburg again, but I’d go back if in the neighborhood for a decent bite to eat.

My husband brought me here for breakfast on my birthday and the food was very disappointing. The food was greasy, the home fries were burnt, tasted like cooked in old grease, and they were cold. There was a fly roaming around inside the restaurant that we had to fight off our plates while we ate. The place was pretty empty and that should’ve been a red flag for us but we gave it a try. You have to pay for parking since it’s in downtown Harrisburg. The only good thing was our server, she was nice. My husband and I are foodies and like to try new places to eat, this is a not a place we would go back to or recommend to anyone.

I was a bit disappointed in this place. We went there for lunch after looking at the website menu. No where on the website did it say they only serve breakfast. However, once we were seated the cook here’s us talking about ordering mozzarella sticks and tells us that they only serve breakfast on Saturday. They really should post that on their website. Eventually he did let us order sandwiches, no fries or anything that needs a fryer but I was able to get a grilled cheese sandwich. It was good. The service was a little slow but the waitress was nice. I would like to be able to try this place for lunch.

I have patroned this place on numerous occasions, and while it's never been an amazing experience, it's been a cheap and enjoyable one. However, after this last visit, I'm not returning.

The busboy/man that works there is the most miserable human I have ever encountered. Anytime I've visited, he has ALWAYS been miserable, and I've caught him saying a few nasty things under his breath, but this last time was the final straw.

My husband and I had just walked in the rain with our baby to have a nice Sunday breakfast at this place. We walked in, took maybe 30 seconds to dry off, before being very rudely greeted by the busboy as if we had kept him waiting. There's no hostess station or logical order of things at this place. You're seated whenever he or the waitress becomes available. He never made us aware in the 30 seconds we had been inside that he was trying to seat us, but as soon I look up from checking on my baby, all of a sudden he yells HELLO with the most attitude he could muster and slams the menus down on the table. He rolls his eyes with his whole head and walks away. That's it. That's the greeting. The waitress then comes over and is very nice (she's always very nice) and seats us. But honestly I was in such shock that I told my husband I didn't feel comfortable staying. We left and had a much better experience somewhere else. It just sucks that this guy still works there. He's a stain on their otherwise good reputation. Let him go or you're gonna lose a...

Sunday morning so the waitress was crazy busy. We had a reservation for 10 for 1030, at 1015 since we were not there, they cancelled the reservation and released the table. When we arrived shortly before 1030 they worked to put the table back together. 7 of us were present. We ordered drinks. We ended up with an extra OJ and shorted a coffee. After a short wait. I decided to track down the coffee. The waitress admitted she forgot. The late comer arrived as the orders were being taken, but he was skipped anyway. He had to track down the waitress to order. Food arrived as ordered. She got everything correct on all 8 meals. Everything was cooked correctly. Coffee refills were very consistent until we finished eating, then table service ended. We waited a while for the check to come then decided to head to the register. Overall I understand she was busy but as the place emptied out the level of effort didn't return. Home Fries were cooked well done as I requested, coffee was hot, food served hot and...
