I found myself on an off side road adjacent to Park St in the Frog Hollow district of Hfd. I pulled around on my bike to see a bright red neon sign , and it drew me right in. I had to see what was inside such an oasis in area. I immediately smelled the various grilled delights coming from behind the counter. A lovely hispanic woman came, smiled, and took my order. I just ordered a simple ham and cheese grinder and it was more than simple. Ham piled up on the roll next to wafer thin Swiss cheese. Then all the fixings I could want for with shredded lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar , oregano, salt and pepper. By the time I got my order, I had a very warm feeling about the place. I asked them how long they were there and they all perked up and said the store had been family owned , and managed for over 25 years. I can't wait to go back and dive into their specialty , Steak and cheese grinder. Don't miss it, just around the corner from broad and russ st, the yummy Boriqua Market is tucked in on Lawrence St. Enjoy the selection!!

I saw a picture of a pastrami sub and I was sold, Do not go here unless you live in the neighborhood. Drug deals abound on the street in front of this Market and crazy people galore. I knew there was a possibility of a not so nice neighborhood, however, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. I knew I was in trouble when I saw it was off Russ. The streets had police concrete blocks at the intersections (to slow down the fleeing criminals. I was harassed and followed in by some lady who was clearly on drugs and didn't enjoy people just living their lives in peace. She followed me in screaming at me in Spanish, I asked the men cooking to help me out, they ignored me, the cashier was on the phone and ignored the ridiculousness that was taking place in front of her. When she hung up the phone she exchanged pleasantries with this lady and didn't flinch a bone as the lady left the market. I was harassed by others when I left (with no pastrami grinder, of course) and went to my car. .

The fries were store bought cheap frozen fries. No flavor. Unevenly salted.

Bread is SUPER thick. Deli meat at a weird flavor to it and didn't taste fresh.

Gave me a hard time about picking up my order that I placed through their doordash storefront.... tried to treat me like a delivery driver despite me explaining multiple times how I placed my order through the storefront.

Portion was large, but it was even pricey for the portion size. You'll absolutely be full though. I recommend them if you're...
