OMG. I'm in love. Quintessential roadside snack bar experience. It smells so good as soon as you walk up to the window. Prices are quite reasonable given that it's basically a tourist trap type place (but I do NOT mean that in a negative sense -- I just meant that it's located right near the world famous Quechee Gorge & it exists for the purpose of serving hungry tourists visiting the insanely gorgeous natural wonder of the Gorge). The food was amazing for all of us. 4 people (3 adults, 1 child). Portions were HUGE. Fries are delicious. Sandwiches were delicious. Totally satisfying. After eating, we went to VINS (Vermont Institute of Nature & Science), which I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and then we CAME BACK for ice cream after our day spent walking everywhere at VINS. Ice cream was fabulous, again, extremely generous portions & good prices. I live about 15 minutes from here & now that I've eaten here, it may become a regular lunch destination for me (open seasonally, of course, being a walk-up, counter service type place) and my friends! Loved it & wish I could give it 10★★★★★!!! Oh & the staff was...
Read moreIn the area from Pennsylvania.. food is very pricey for basic fried food. White haired lady behind the counter is very rude.. My husband was waiting in line with my 3 mo. old son while I changed my 22 mo. old's diaper in the car.. when I was done, I went to meet my husband who was ignored up until that point.. suddenly we were acknowledged when the lady slid open the window and yelled - as i was still walking to my husband - saying I can't throw the diapers in my hand in their trash can. I was a little confused considering I wasn't even near the order window, or even a trash can yet, and just responded with "oh? ok." means to say we opted to just leave since based on the lady's attitude, and the price of the food, most of the money you spend goes towards funding their trash cans you aren't allowed to use 🤷♀️
who knows though.. maybe it's good food. unfortunately we didn't even get the chance to talk to anybody before being...

This is a typical tourist trap. Food is meh at best, service is slow and leaves a lot to be desired, and the "maple" creemee is a truly shameful excuse. There was no maple in it; just an expensive vanilla creemee. Good way to rob flatlanders and the tour busses full of international tourists. Please don't rate Vermont's iconic and highly coveted Maple Creemee based on the stuff they hand you here for twice the normal price of other shops.
Ironically, their fried dough with maple cream was so deeply buried in thick maple cream that it was inedible without scraping half of it off. Think a normal fired dough with a full cup - cup and a half maybe - of thick, gritty...
