The views up and down the gorge are amazing, and there's cutouts in the fence crossing the bridge so that you can take great pictures. This time of year, the leaves are changing, and it's beautiful. In the parking lot, there a grassy place to enjoy a picnic, and there are many stores in the area to buy whatever your heart desires. There's a Cabot Creamery tasting store for cheese lovers nearby, and a spirits store to get all kinds of liquor with their great selection. There's no facilities at the gorge, but plenty of trails, not that I'm saying it's okay or legal to use the trails for that purpose 😁... Just go way off the trail, and...
Read moreWoah 😳! I first discovered the gourge by driving over it! It has it's own bridge for traffic! It has a visitors center and a state park 🏞️ right next to it. I explored as much as I could in a short amount of time, but, I couldn't get to close to the gourge, just observe it from a distance! I did find one end 🔚 of the gourge at a man made dam/waterfall. The walk to the river is nice but the cyclone fence ruins the scenery and path. Once at the river it's quite nice to walk out on the rocks but the water is very polluted with oil and detergent and other toxic chemicals floating on the surface.
