Uncle Sky’s Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Hartford

Sometimes I feel robbed when I have a bad meal at a restaurant. This restaurant actually robbed me. I understand I left my bag there, but when I returned and asked the employees, they said they did not find it, even though it showed on the map there. Taking the loss and giving the benefit of the doubt, I patiently looked at my 2 tracking devices in my bag, hoping they would pop up on the map again. An alert came a day later leading me to my keys, discarded and hidden behind a heavy object in their alleyway. Finding my keys in this location, my phone also tracked my bag nearby, directing me to the back of the restaurant where the kitchen is located.

I went inside asking for my bag once more hoping there was a misunderstanding but the employee insisted there was no bag. Making my tracker ring from my phone, I heard it coming from their kitchen and they continued to deny hearing any sound. Following the sound led me to a mostly empty trash can in their kitchen, with my tracker beeping at the bottom, removed from a less obvious pocket in my bag, placed in their trash can 2 days later.

The employee insisted she had no idea how it ended up in the trash, accusing me of racism as I dug only my tracker from their trash in the back, hoping for my wallet too. Yes I walked into an area not intended for customers. Yes I found stolen property there. Yes I asked the cops for help first. The wings weren't worth it. Waiting on my replacement IDs and credit cards but my late aunt's wallet I used is irreplaceable. One star for leaving my keys in the alley for me at least.

Great food and service. I highly recommend the fried whiting basket. The fish was amazingly fresh and cooked perfectly. Chicken wings are the best around as well. Friendly atmosphere where everyone is happy with their food and seem to be repeat customers and talkative . For now I think they have a southern home cooking day with extra items on menu on Sundays. This place is perfect, and i can't believe we found it. The owner is cool as hell. The food is genuinely better than anything i ever had in New Orleans. The Cajun dry rub seasoning on....well... everything is the way to go. They have beer, and good food and all the games on TV. Thank you for cheering my party up man. We will recommend you to all our friends.
