Think about a time you've worked a 10 hour day, and your on the ride home. You have been thinking about a great meal you always enjoy after a hard day. You normally go to a different location, but Hey; this is on the way home so your going to give them a shot! The other location is always awesome, this one should be too, right? No, unfortunately not. Let me start by having you ask yourself, is a fish dinner as good without coleslaw and tartar sauce? No, it's not. Especially when you've spent all day thinking about it? So I live about 15 miles north of this Culvers, but it is on the ride home. I have never gone here before, but from my first impression, they dropped the ball. I got home, and was just so ready to enjoy my evening and I open the bag and No cole slaw, and no tartar sauce and I did order an extra one, so extra disappointed. So, I called the store, maybe they'll make it right. They don't offer many any comp on my meal for the bad experience, but only offer me a coupon (in the mail!!!) for a free coleslaw (WHICH I ALREADY PAID FOR). Wow.... yes, let me drive 15 miles to your restaurant for a coleslaw.... which you forgot....really??? If your going to drop the ball, step up and make it right with the customer. Other than that, the rest of the meal...

This place is so special to me. The one thing I really like about our neighborhood (we live about 2.5 miles away) is that so many employers hire special needs people, give them a fair shake, and a chance to earn a living, by giving them a chance, based on their strengths. They also hire seniors and young folks, too. They don't discriminate based on what they look like, or by what their abilities are.
As a disabled adult, with many disabled friends, I nearly cried the first time I came in, and saw multiple people on the same shift, who have down syndrome... along with seniors, and a mix of others. I feel like I now live in a community full of folks, who care about folks like my friends and I. We moved into our new home to better support my physical disabilities, and be in an area that I could still get to my doctors, in a decent timeframe.
We love the food, the desserts, the atmosphere, and the people. I've never had a bad experience, here, and their award-winning staff absolutely deserve the honors given to them. I've been to many different Culver's locations, but this one is special.
Thank you, from the bottom...
Read moreUpdate after 1/12/22 response: I can appreciate the owner reaching out to resolve my concern, but this isn't about me or my experience. My issue is with the store's seemingly non-existent COVID protocols that had me tossing a meal out of fear of exposure to COVID.
When I picked up my order at the drive through, we were 2 years into the pandemic, and none of Culver's visible employees were wearing masks. When I paid for my burger and curds, Michigan hospitalization rates hit a new high and the Omicron variant was recently discovered in the US. Hospital patients are currently being stacked 2 deep in the ED hallways, and the restaurant owner is concerned about a burger and curds that I tossed in December.
The owner's reply didn't mention current or future COVID protocols. The store's management has an odd list of priorities.
--- Original 12/18/21 review --- Drive thru on 12/18. None of the staff inside were wearing a mask. I REALLY wanted some curds and mushroom swiss, but I couldn't trust the food. I pulled around and made a lunch out of checkout candy bars from Meijer.
The food smelled SO GOOD but the confrontation and potential exposure...
