Ahhh.. Indian Delight, where do I even begin? I thought I had favorite foods, but that all changed the night my friend and I decided to try Indian food. On a whim, we searched for nearby Indian restaurants, only to find there was a lone eatery named “Indian Delight,” only 8 miles from our then location. Our interest was piqued. “How could there be only one Indian restaurant from Columbia to Hattiesburg? Is Indian food not worth the try? Is it dying out? Is Indian food a chair on its last leg? An endangered species—the metaphorical manatee of cuisine?” All of these worries racing through my mind were silenced the moment our server brought out our meals. The aroma filled the air, and it looked more like my delivery nurse bringing to me my newborn child. That may sound silly, but in a way, it was completely true. Trying Indian Delight opened me up to an entire new world. My life will never be the same. This dining experience was akin to finding the fountain of youth. Never before had such aromatic, rich, velvety flavor coated my tongue. All of the textures in the food were absolutely immaculate. Never again will I dine in any other restaurant, as it would give money to the Indian Delight Staff’s competitors. There need be no other restaurant on earth. No other chef can replicate the euphoria that their Chicken Tikki Masala brought me. In a way, Indian Delight has killed me. My old life is over. My eyes have been opened and my tongue born anew. I am almost scared these days. A terrible paranoia has set over me due to this divine meal my friend and I shared a 7 days and 7 nights ago. This is because I can’t stop thinking, “What if this is it? What if I will never taste a more delightful dish?” I have walked this earth for only 17 young years, yet I am ready to die, for no other experience could ever live up to trying Indian Delight’s delectable offerings. Every day is nothing but pain, for I am tasting something other than the Indian Delight Chef’s exquisite creation. I now know why there is only one Indian restaurant in Hattiesburg, because any competitor would be an absolute troglodyte and an embarrassment to the country of India and the entire continent of Asia. There is only one Indian restaurant in Hattiesburg because it is the Dalai Lama of all restaurants. The kitchen in Indian Delight should be consecrated, or made into a historical monument. The kitchenware the Indian Delight Chefs use are hallowed. The spatulas and forks used could be repurposed as national heirlooms. Indian Delight changed me, and it will change you, too. For the better. Go try it. Please. It was so delicious, and it would be an insult to me for anyone to pass up an opportunity to dine there.

I've eaten here twice now and the first was better than the second even though they got my order wrong. Both times I ordered the Gosht Tikka masala. The first time I received chicken(which I accepted, we had a big order and didn't want to make a big deal out of it) This last time I got what I ordered with garlic na'an. The Tikka masala was very bland unlike the first time I ate there(and I don't just mean bland comparably to other Indian food it was bland in general. Indian food is usually the furthest thing from bland.) Not only that, the lamb specifies that it is boneless but there were bones throughout the dish (not just one or two) and a good portion (NOT ALL) of the na'an was burned though not inedibly so. Pictures included. All around very hit or miss in my experience.

Amazing, delicious, phenomenal in every way. Service was just fabulous. If this review seems over the top, it's because the food and atmosphere are over the top! I loved that we could hear ourselves talk and the appropriate background music did not drown out conversation. The elegant serving pieces were beautiful, the servers were kind and helpful but never intrusive. The food was incredible. On the recommendation of my Indian friend, I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I ordered the dish mild (not extra mild) and it had a wonderful flavor. The naan was hot and jut the right texture. My friend got the lamb kebob with medium spice and it had a real kick. She loved it. Overall wonderful experience.

Indian Delight is an absolute treasure in Hattiesburg! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for an unforgettable dining experience. The warm, inviting atmosphere, combined with the rich aromas of spices and herbs, immediately transported me to the heart of India.

The Ambiance: The restaurant has a cozy yet elegant feel. The decor is simple but tasteful, with just enough cultural touches to create an authentic vibe. Whether you're here for a casual lunch or a more intimate dinner, the setting feels just right.

The Food: Now, let’s talk about the food – which is, without a doubt, the star of the show! Indian Delight delivers on all fronts when it comes to authentic Indian cuisine. The menu is extensive, with a perfect balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and the flavors are spot-on. Each dish is freshly prepared, and the attention to detail is evident in every bite.

I started with the Samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a savory blend of spices and vegetables on the inside. They were served with tangy tamarind chutney and mint sauce, which complemented the dish beautifully. For my entrée, I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was phenomenal! The chicken was tender and juicy, cooked to perfection in a rich, creamy tomato-based sauce that had just the right amount of heat. Paired with fluffy basmati rice and soft, buttery naan, it was the perfect combination.

For those who enjoy a bit of spice, I highly recommend trying the Lamb Vindaloo. It packs a punch but in the most flavorful way possible. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the spicy vinegar-based sauce was a wonderful balance of heat and tanginess.

Vegetarian Options: Indian Delight shines when it comes to catering to vegetarians as well. My friend ordered the Paneer Makhani and raved about the creaminess and depth of flavor in the dish. The paneer was soft and soaked up the spices perfectly, making it a truly delicious vegetarian option.

Service: The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and more than happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

Final Thoughts: Whether you're a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, Indian Delight is a must-visit. The authenticity of the food, combined with exceptional service and a cozy atmosphere, makes it one of the best dining spots in Hattiesburg. It's a place that celebrates the bold, vibrant flavors of India and brings them to the South in a way that's approachable and absolutely delicious.

I can’t wait to return and try more of their dishes! If you're in the area and craving something flavorful and satisfying, look no further than Indian Delight. This place is truly...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Delight with a group of friends, and our experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The menu at Indian Delight is an absolute delight for Indian food enthusiasts. I had the mild Chicken Tikka Masala, which was bursting with flavor and had just the right balance of spices. The tender chicken combined with the creamy tomato and cream based sauce was a match made in culinary heaven. It was the perfect introduction to the rich flavors that awaited us. Next my friend had the Spicy Butter Chicken, and it truly lived up to its name. The succulent chicken bathed in a luscious, spicy gravy left our taste buds dancing with fiery joy. The heat level was just right, adding a tantalizing kick without overpowering the dish. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors that kept us reaching for more. My other friend and her kid indulged in both the Medium Spicy Mix Biryani and the Spicy Lamb Biryani. Both dishes were masterpieces in their own right. The fragrant basmati rice, perfectly cooked and generously infused with aromatic spices, provided a delightful backdrop to the tender meat. The mix of flavors and textures in each biryani was nothing short of exceptional, and we shared and savored every mouthful. No Indian meal is complete without naan bread, and Indian Delight did not disappoint. The soft and fluffy naan bread, accompanied by the aromatic Garlic Naan, was the perfect accompaniment to our flavorful dishes. Each bite was a heavenly combination of warmth, buttery goodness, and that unmistakable taste of freshly baked bread. The service at Indian Delight was impeccable. Our server was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was flawless. He was particularly great with the child in our group, making our visit a truly family-friendly affair. In conclusion, Indian Delight exceeded our expectations in every way. The quality and freshness of the food, combined with the attentive service, made for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a fan of mild or spicy dishes, there is something on the menu to suit every palate. We left the restaurant already planning our next visit, eager to explore more of the culinary treasures that Indian Delight has to offer. If you're looking for an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than Indian Delight - you won't be...
