Island Glazed — Restaurant in Hawaii

Had intentionally wanted to go to their location in Halawa since it is closer to me, but GPS took us to the Aiea location, but it worked out because we ended up meeting Daniel who runs the shop! We went closer to their closing time in hope of getting an original donut, but didn't see any in the case. However, there were still many varities to choose from. We got a blueberry donut and a coffee donut along with some cold brew. As we were checking out with the cashier, Daniel had stepped into the back and then approached us with a fresh original glazed donut. Fluffy and the glaze was light, not overly sweet. As we were about to head out, Daniel had asked how we found out about this place and we chatted a bit. Very nice guy. As for what we purchased, the blueberry donut was my favorite of the two. The blueberry taste doesn't hit you right away but it was also not overly sweet. Cold brew was nice and smooth too. Comparing the fresh donut Daniel gave us to the donuts we purchased, both were very soft! I would say the biggest difference would just be the temperature. Big mahalos to Daniel! Excellent way to start our day with amazing donuts and coffee. We ordered the Ube Do it, Matcha donut, Apple Fritter and Cinnamon roll with a Cold Brew Coffee and an Iced Latte. The donuts were perfect, fresh, slightly crisp on the outside and so very soft on the inside. The icing (matcha & Ube) were both very flavorful and not too sweet. The cinnamon roll was also very fresh and perfectly cinnamony. The Apple Fritter passed the ultimate test….it was the best one we’ve ever had as it had multiple chunks of fresh apples throughout. It was also slightly crisp on the outside and very soft inside. All of the other iced donuts we tried(chocolate, Strawberry, Passion Fruit and Mango) were really really good and the flavors were vibrant and natural. The Cold Brew and iced Latte were also pretty perfect. I cannot often finish a medium iced latte but this one is excellent. The restaurant is standard size for a donut shop and decorated with happy and colorful pictures and a great mural. So lucky to have walked into this amazing spot! The owner came out and offered samples and we were immediately hooked. Soft, fresh, well glazed, and not too oily. These donuts are dangerous because it'll be hard to stop at one. If we weren't heading to the airport for a flight two hours later we definitely would've purchased more donuts.

There are loads of flavours to choose from, but we had the glazed, ube and lilikoi. Sweetness and flavour were on point for all of them. They've added smoothies to the menu so I gave one a try - it was refreshing and delicious. Could have been blended a bit more to get the ice more fine, but it seemed like this menu item was pretty new so I have no doubt it'll get smoothed out.
