I was disappointed that they don't take reservations however, they were able to accommodate my party of 8 people on a Monday night, 6:30 pm. Waitress was extremely and pleasantly helpful, energetic, and charismatic. She explained how to order and even gave us suggestions. I appreciated the complimentary shrimp chips and vinegar sauce. Food came out relatively quick considering we ordered 10-12 family style dishes. Table wasn't big enough to fit all our food. Our individuals plates that we ate from were VERY SMALL....too small to hold all our food. Food quality was excellent, fresh, and delicious. In my opinion, some dishes were TOO SALTY. Price was more on the high side but reasonable considering they offer fresh local fish like Mahi and Ahi at market prices. Looks like menu changes frequently depending on what local ingredients are available. My favorite was the steamed mahi with lup cheong, garlic chicken, and lechon kawali. Atmosphere is a local relaxed feel, nothing fancy but TOO NOISY. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. If you have a party of 8 or more, they won't make individual checks so be sure you have cash or use Venmo to share the bill with your friends. I would definitely return to eat there again and would...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Plantation Tavern.
I ordered a salad that came with a calamansi vinaigrette, and it was delicious! I love calamansi, so it has a nice tart but honey-esque flavor. For my entree, I ordered the 3-kine musubi and yum! You get spam musubi, garlic chicken musubi, and teriyaki salmon. They were all delicious, especially the garlic chicken as it's fries and crispy.
My mom ordered the ahi poke nachos. They were so good! And I'm glad they asked if my mom wanted the shiracha aoli, because she can't do spicy eats. The wonton chips were thick and crunchy, and the poke was marinated well. And it came with avocado, which, as a Californian, is absolutely necessary.
My family also ordered the bulgogi burger and the garlic bok choy. They were devoured.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall. There is parking, but with other restaurants in the area, it can get crowded quickly. The restaurant itself is small, but can do a group over 5 like ours.
The staff is very welcoming, and explained their concept and their commitment to fresh ingredients.
If you're vacationing in Ko Olina, Plantation Tavern is nearby and a great place...
Read moreThey have different lunch, happy hour, and dinner menus. I stopped by for lunch, but one of the employees explained the different menus to me and I decided to come back for dinner the next day instead. Don’t get me wrong, the lunch menu looked really good, but if you are looking for some of the local cuisine and specialties, you should probably come back for the dinner menu that starts at 5pm. Portions are large enough to be shared family style, so I got to try a little of everything.
They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Full bar, draft and bottled beer, wines and special house cocktails.
Parking can be a bear in this strip center.
They have plenty of four topper tables but you can’t push them together because of the layout of the place, so not great for groups of more than four or five people.
If you go, you HAVE to try the Shrimp and Pork Lumpia Shanghai - I couldn’t stop going on and on about that appetizer!
I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service - it was awesome and I owe it to the server who told me about the different menus when I stopped in for lunch.
This place is...
