OH MY GRILL - Aiea — Restaurant in Hawaii

Oh. My. GRILL. This place in Pearl Kai Shopping Center is serving up so much flavor, it might just steal your heart and your appetite in one bite. I came here because it was hands down the busiest spot around…..like, hello, what are all these people eating that I need to know about? Spoiler: It’s worth the hype!

First off, let’s talk about this little hole-in-the-wall. It’s tiny, but somehow still spacious (a magician’s spell, perhaps?) and squeaky clean. The vibe isn’t exactly homey, but it’s super welcoming, like a friend who always greets you with snacks. The real MVP? The menu. PICTURES. Everywhere. No guessing games, no reading required…..just point and drool. Some of the items had happy faces next to them, which I assume means “local favorites,” but hey, they could also just be the chef’s personal faves. Who knows? I was too busy plotting my food choices to investigate further.

And the forks? THEY HAD SMILEY FACES. Yes, the actual utensils were smiling at me, which somehow made the whole meal even better. It’s like they knew I was about to have a life-changing food moment.

We started with the crab rangoons…….crispy, creamy and gone in 60 seconds. Then came the star of the show: the Wagyu Loco Moco. Picture this: two thick, juicy, homemade patties (I’m talking “gravy….smothered dreams”) two perfectly gooey over-easy eggs on top and a creamy scoop of mac salad on the side. It was so good, I almost wanted to write it a love letter and yes, I hit it with some extra pepper for that chef’s kiss finish.💋 Y’all, I couldn’t even pause to take a picture….I was already drooling when it hit the table.🤦🏽‍♀️🤣

Cherie made a mistake on my daughters order over the phone. Chili Cheese fries and BLT sandwich. When I came to pick up and pay for order Cherie handed me the order. I brought my daughter the order and she said this is not what I ordered. I did not ask for milk tea, I ordered a BLT and a Chili CHEESE fries, however it was only Chili fries. I went back to OH My Grill and spoke to the girl that assisted me the 1st time (Cherie) and I ask her name which she refused to give me. I handed her the drink and asked her what will she do with it, her response was someone here will drink it, I can't give it to you. Which I never asked for. She then went on to say she never got an order for Chili cheese fries and BLT sandwich. It's funny because when 1st got there and I said I'm picking up an order she asked for the phone number ,which I gave her and she pulled up my daughters number and order. I came back asked her to correct the order which was a BLT sandwich not a Milk Tea. She then went on to say well Milk Tea and BLT sound the same. My response was they both end with T. I was not at all appreciating her snarky remarks and rudeness. I asked for a manager and she said we don't have one. Who do I call about this situation and she said no one and walked away. I asked for her name which she never gave me. One couple walked out as they heard the conversation and said we're not eating here that girl is mean and has bad customer service. Another person came to bring me the BLT sandwich and cheese for the chili fries that had no cheese on it and I asked him for the girls name which he said was Cherie. I hope nobody else ever has to deal with a bad personality like this. She put the R in rude!! It astonished me when she said someone here will drink the Milk tea drink that I returned. One of the worst restaurants my family and I stopped by in our vacation. First of all, when ordering we asked the waitress if we could exchange some of the side dishes for some of the other side options and we were told that it was possible. In no moment did she let us know that we would be charged extra. I ordered the Seafood Combo and the breading was super thick that I couldn't eat the shrimp without feeling the shrimp would get stuck in my throat. I paid extra for the BBQ ribs and they were horrible (couldn't eat them either). I asked to exchange the rice and pasta salad from my meal for French fries (the only thing I ate). My mother, son and daughter-in- law exchanged from their meal their two scoops of rice and pasta salad too for salad or French fries. My son ordered the BBQ Ribs (he isn't picky and didnt eat them either) and my daughter in law the garlic chicken (I tried it and was not good). They didn't eat anything but their French fries. After we were so disappointed with our meals and had the bill. We noticed that were were being charged extra for the exchange of rice to salad or French fries. If we were told from the beginning that we were going to have to pay for the exchanges we either would have left or not exchanged anything. Horrible food and service. We do not recommend this...
