Jersey Mike's — Restaurant in Hawaii

Maui's second Jersey Mike's location opened at the Puunene Shopping Center about 7 years ago.

ATMOSPHERE: The bright & airy space is located at the southwest corner of Pakaula & Hookele. Parking is plentiful and vehicular access is easy. Seating is small but adequate.

FOOD: Grilled Pastrami Reuben I've had this once before at the original Wailuku location. Here, it tasted just as fresh but the pastrami was a bit dry. Even the bread that I've come to love was a tad bit parched, though not enough to sway me from ever returning. Being about 8" in length, I couldn't finish the sandwich as I was also having some soup with it at home. In general, a very good version.

SERVICE: My spouse has been in here so many times that a first name was used in the greeting. LOL. They've had a few boo boo's with past orders but nothing extreme.

Subs are awesome but don't bother ordering through the Jersey Mike's app that they're pushing so hard. Let's say it's 1pm, you order on the app, pay, and they tell you to come pick it up at 1:45pm. No worries, worth the wait. HOWEVER, when you get there you have to stand in the back of the regular line like everyone who has not ordered or paid yet. Could be two people could be twelve. Even though your order is already ready and bagged up and paid for behind the counter. So you get to wait twice, once for your scheduled time to come up, and another when you get in line at the store. Completely defeats the point of ordering from the app. Also the app was stressing how Covid friendly their pickup procedure is. What a joke. PS: if you type anything into the Special Requests box they will not see it. Happened to me three times in a row. I respect all the JM staff working hard and being polite. It's not them. I love Mike's, but this place sucks. The manager was training a kid with 2 other employees watching, seen the new kid give my sandwich a 5 second oil pour on my regular sandwich. I was so shocked the manager had to emphasize he was new. I didn't want to be rude so I gave the Benefit of the doubt maybe it just looked like alot.
