Kings BBQ — Restaurant in Maui

Kings BBQ is the Maui iteration of an L&L with a few other locations on the rock.

ATMOSPHERE: Located in Puunene Shopping Center next to Fork & Salad, it’s a bright, no-frills spot with a few indoor tables.

RESERVATIONS: None.

PARKING: Free & plentiful.

MENU: Breakfast, Hawai’i-style plate lunches, handful of Chinese dishes, burgers, catering menu.

FOOD: BBQ Chicken (regular size) Three tender and well-marinated chicken thighs were accompanied with two scoops of steamed white rice and a scoop of overcooked, mushy but tasty mac salad. The latter killed the dish which is an important part of any local plate lunch.

SERVICE: No greeting from the cashier/order taker. Food delivery took a little under ten minutes without calling in the order.
