Kīlauea Coffee — Restaurant in Hawaii

This used to be a good place to get coffee. Not anymore. The Rasta appearing younger male that was working didn’t even bother to say hello or crack even the slightest smile to me or the other two customers in the room. No interaction. He looks at you with a completely blank look and doesn’t bother to talk. He took my order and wasn’t even sure what to charge me for the drink. He proceeded to make my iced coffee by reaching into the ice machine with his bare hand (no gloves even) and grabbed ice with his bare hand and dropped it into my cup. He picked up a straw holding the tip that you put your mouth on with his bare hand. The creamer he added to the drink had started to curdle. Adding insult to injury he charged me for a more expensive drink and asked that I pay it because he can’t cancel out the charge on the machine and redo it but I could come in another time and get...

DO NOT GO HERE FOR COFFEE. If the Rasta guy is working, steer clear. Rasta guy is not interested in making coffee or providing a customer service. Like other customers reviewed, he just stares at you and begs for a positive review. The music is too loud, and environment is uncomfortable. Also does not know how to make coffee. He gave me a hot americano that included chocolate, I ordered an iced americano. Also “smelled” the coffee? We poured out all four of our beverages because they tasted weird.

Hire new staff or close this establishment. A year ago this place was great with a real barista, not this guy who knows or cares little.

There are so many better options in the downtown. Don’t let this place bring down your experience, go to Puna Chocolate Company...

No. Just no. I really want to support local businesses, but just stay away from this place. The guy who works there gives off a weird vibe. Does not greet customers. No shoes on. Loud music blasting. I should've just walked out, but decided to order an iced vanilla latte. The guy proceeds to brew coffee and pour it over a cup of ice. Took 10 minutes to get my order. No other customer was in there except me. The hot coffee melted the ice completely. He added some milk and that was about it. The coffee taste nothing like an iced vanilla latte. I suggest getting rid of the guy and hire a barista with experience. If you're charging $7 for a small cup of coffee, it should at least...
