Ka'ū Coffee Roasters Cafe — Restaurant in Hawaii

After reading the prior reviews, I was a bit skeptical about visiting. However, my wife wanted to go, so we decided to give it a try.

When I looked at the menu, I noticed a cinnamon sugar donut and asked if it was available. The lady at the counter rudely replied, "See where it says Monday through Friday." I hadn't seen the sign in the top left corner; otherwise, I wouldn't have asked. Following her rude comment, the payment platform asked for a tip, and I chose "0%". To my shock with a hand on a bible, I saw her write "NO TIP" on my receipt for the kitchen staff.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe in tipping at establishments where I have to stand. As a visitor from the mainland, I was blown away by the rude behavior. The reviews I read were spot on. It's really sad to see such poor service at a coffee shop with such a great location. The staff...

As a barista of five years, I am extremely picky, not only when it comes to coffee, but to coffee shops and equipment. Valan at Ka’u Coffee was extremely knowledgable and patient, offering stellar recommendations including house made syrups and a brief tour of the shop’s impressive assembly of espresso equipment. Holy kau! This Coffee is legit! I originally went in here to because i saw the bag of kona coated macadamia nuts which were worth going alone! 10oz bag was about $17 and worth every penny. The toasted coconut coated macadamia are worth it as well these are by far the best on the island for macadamia variety. The staff is super nice the manager and barista were so quick and my nitro cold brew was life changing lol. Seriously though amazing nitro no cream and it tasted like it had whole milk super smooth and delicious. I will definitely be back before we go for a cup...
