Hawaii Big Island Adventure Stay: Hilton Waikoloa Village. Beautiful surroundings, water slides, kids' swimming pool, and some water activities, perfect for family trips. Eat: Nui Italian & Lounge (reservation required), Sushi Cocoro & Udon noodle (reservation required), Sansei seafood & sushi bar (reservation required), Ocean seafood Chinese restaurant (walk-in). Drink: My son specifically mentioned that Guava juice here is the best, much better than the overly sweet guava juice elsewhere. Travel: Car rental via Priceline, the cheapest app I've ever used for rentals. Picked up and returned the car at Kona International Airport. There's a shuttle bus from the airport to the rental location. Play: Atlantis Submarine underwater fish viewing and UFO parasailing, both booked through Expedia. Self-drive 1: Pololu Valley lookout, requires hiking gear, bring plenty of water, about a 2-hour hike. The terrain is said to be steep, but since my teammate went in flip-flops, we didn't get to see the black sand beach and baby turtles. Staff specifically warned not to touch jellyfish, especially for those allergic to bees, as the toxins are the same and very dangerous. No restrooms at the site, outdoor urination/defecation fines are $500 and 40 hours of community service, so find a restroom on the way to the parking area. Self-drive 2: Drove from the hotel around the west side of the island to Kilauea visitor center to visit the volcano park, passing through Hilo town. We strolled through Hilo farmer’s market, which had the usual tourist souvenirs, nothing particularly special. The fruits are worth buying, longans, rambutans, mangosteens, mangoes, papayas, all very fresh. It's about a 30-minute drive from Hilo town to the volcano park. On the return trip, we chose to go around the east side of the island back to the hotel, a slightly longer journey with rougher roads, mainly narrow and winding downhill roads, but the scenery is different, dense vegetation, and coastal views. We stopped at Whittington beach park for photos, rest, and a bathroom break, watching the sea. Completed the full loop around the Big Island, arriving back at the hotel at 8 PM. A 5-day, 4-night itinerary, enjoying the healing sunshine, gentle sea breeze, local cuisine, leisure time, and volcanic landscapes. Heard this island is the purest and least polluted, with high enough altitude for an astronomical observatory. Measuring the world with my footsteps, stepping out to discover the vastness of creation, realizing how small I am, filled with awe! #HawaiiBigIsland #HiltonWaikoloaVillage #PololuValley #KilaueaVolcano #HiloFarmersMarket #GuavaJuice #AtlantisSubmarine #UFOParasailing #Priceline #Expedia #TravelAdventure #FamilyTravel #VolcanicLandscapes #AstronomicalObservatory

Go earlier in the day! The captain canceled our later time because of chop which I gather is more a safety concern for the boat than those parasailing but that was in a way reassuring. This definitely isn't a white knuckle terrifying experience like you might think it is: it's exhilarating and calming. Knowing the UFO parasail guys are safety forward meant that having to reschedule was more reassuring than inconvenient but it seems like conditions on the water get more exciting in the afternoon so if you're traveling any distance to get to Kailua Pier from another part of Big Island to fly with these guys I recommend a morning reservation. It was super fun and the view from a couple hundred feet up is unbelievable. Probably as professional an outfit as you're going to find anywhere. We opted to try this on Hawaii rather than in other destinations because it seems unlikely you'll find a crew who cares about you in the carribean or central America hey and pay the extra 30 bucks for the photos. You won't regret it. Enjoy the experience rather than fiddling around with your camera. They took 180 photos and they know what they're doing.

Title: Fantastic Experience with UFO Parasailing Kona! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of parasailing with UFO Parasailing Kona for the second time, and it was absolutely amazing! The beautiful weather provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience high above the ocean. Captain Ty and deck hand Micha were exceptional! Captain Ty's expertise and professionalism made me feel safe and confident throughout the entire adventure. Micha was attentive, ensuring everyone's safety and capturing fantastic photos that I will cherish forever. The entire team at UFO Parasailing Kona clearly prioritizes customer satisfaction, and their dedication shines through in every aspect of the experience. I am already looking forward to my next parasailing adventure with them; I will definitely be a repeat customer! If you're looking for a thrilling and memorable experience in Kona, look no further than UFO Parasailing Kona. Highly recommended!

The guys on the boat and the parasailing were AWESOME!!!👏 but the lady at the front desk with the blonde/reddish hair with glasses ….WOW!!! I have NEVER been treated so rude as a customer. We were 15 minutes late ( totally our fault) ,and I felt bad for this but asked the lady if we had time to use the restroom and she rolled her eyes and said yes if you run. She handed us the card to scan to get into the restroom and did not tell us what to do with the card and I didn’t think to ask so I just gave it to one of the guys on the boat that worked for the company. He said no problem. anyway, after the parasailing, we go back into the office because I wanted to inquire about the local discounts and I asked her what they were. And how to get them. She said, real snarky, well you have to be on time first of all. Kidding!, Not really. Then she said do you have the key card? I said no I am sorry but I gave it to the man on the boat. She rolled her eyes and said in a very mean voice oh my gosh, that is not what I told you to do with it. I can’t even explain to you how rude she was because words don’t explain it, but it made me very upset. So I walked back in there and nicely told her. Hey, you said we were late, but we were actually the first ones at the boat. She said real snarky again, yeah that is because everyone was waiting on you. What a shame because the guys on the boat are so awesome and this is the second time that I have been parasailing with this company, but I am not sure if I will ever go again...

Our first time parasailing and UFO Parasail didn't disappoint. When searching and booking (last minute), I was reassured by their awesome online reputation and I'm happy to add another 5-star review to the list. Captain Ty and Doc were professional but fun and had us all laughing with some of their antics (like a big pair of fake plastic scissors that Doc got out and pretended to cut the line while we were up there, LOL). Thankfully they really seemed to know their stuff and we felt safe with them. We paid $29 extra for the digital photo package and were texted a link with a bunch of pictures ready for me to download - the same day!

For anyone who hasn't done this yet, it's not exactly what I expected. Very exhilarating as you lift off and gain altitude, thrilling to say the least when you reach the highest point and look down, but also unbelievably peaceful! Up there it's calm and quiet; I would not have expected that. It's not a thrill ride the whole time; you're just floating up there for a while. We (hubby and me) chose the 1800' option for 8-10 minutes, and it was worth a few extra dollars. Then they bring you down, dip your feet in the water, take you back up a little bit, then reel you in. You end up standing on the bow of the boat so you "land" on your feet. The whole...

This was our first parasail experience and it was GREAT! Found the business office in Kona easily enough even though it was set back from the street and nestled among some shops. We arrived on the pier on time and were met by the tow boat. Myself and my wife went together and a group of three people from Chicago went too. We brought our own cameras in waterproof camera bags with lanyards, so we didn't opt for the photo package. We went up first and were briefed and harnessed as the boat moved out into open water. We were hooked up and lifted off from the boat deck and sailed to the standard 600' height. When offered to upgrade to 800' (via hand signals) we gave the signal and were raised higher and stayed aloft longer. The ride was smooth as silk, quiet and not as windy as we'd expected. It was great and we were towed past our ship (Pride of America) and took some great photos and videos. Watching the other group go up was almost as fun as doing it ourselves. We had a ball! We bought souvenir t-shirts from a cooler right on the boat and charged them to our credit card wirelessly. Very convenient. If you've never tried this before, you should do it at least once. Highly...
