Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Hawaii

Bad Customer Service: This location is closer to home than the Waipahu one but I will NOT be coming back here after today.

I did the survey from a previous visit - that's a story in itself - and came back today to redeem the "Enjoy two pieces of chicken and a biscuit FREE! With purchase of a large drink*". Started off with the cashier William not being able to find the right POS system entry. The manager on duty found it for him. After that William noticed that it only mentioned the chicken and not the biscuit and the manager said "Oh, I'll throw one in for free." Free - it's part of your offer. Let's not act like you are doing something not offered..

Oh wait it gets better. I start to pay for the drink with cash and had about a dollar worth in change. William saw that and said "Bro" as if I was doing something wrong. Then he looks and sees a dollar bill on the counter by my wallet and says condescendingly - "There's a dollar too" as if my change again wasn't good enough and I was inconveniencing him.

I put the change on the counter and he spread it out all over the counter and knocks some off onto the floor on my side of the counter. I picked it up and put it back to which he made no comment - like thank you, sorry about that. William then proceeded to count the change and then say "You are nine cents short." I was very confident I was not but given his attitude toward me - I handed him the dollar on the counter and took my change back.

Funny enough - I recounted every thing when I got back home and it was exactly one dollar as I put on the counter. In his defense, there was one dirty dime that he likely counted as a penny. But still, no need for the attitude to a customer.

I'm writing this to say two strikes and you're out Popeye's Kapolei. I'll be only going to the one in Waipahu where I've not had these challenges. Guess I should have expected this with 55 reviews and 32 of them are 1 Star before my review on Yelp - You...

UPDATE 7/26---I am extremely impressed by Popeye's management . They were ready to make improvements and were very professional and pleasant! I will give Popeye's another chance....i have always loved their food and am hopeful my prior experience is not the norm.

Worst Popeye's- kapolei. We ordered over a hundred dollars of food ...took 15 minutes to order thru the drive thru and I'm talking about the actual ordering, not waiting to order. Then when we received our order, we were missing a drink, a three piece meal and 4 strawberry biscuits. The chicken wasn't hot and were dry and disappointing. Our Mobile Order of 2 six pieces of lemon chicken wings and a family meal for my husband's birthday celebration was a disappointment. The batter on both the chicken and wings was overcooked and dry, making them unappetizing. Additionally, the wings were misshapen and resembled chicken legs. Despite our attempts to make the best of the situation, our children found the food to be flavorless and inedible. When we contacted the restaurant, we were met with a rude staff member named Paul who refused to provide a refund and instead offered to remake only the wings at a later time.
