I absolutely love Vietnamese food. The first time I came here I ordered the sizzling crepes, bánh xèo. It was fantastic! I've been back here several more times after that. I were always order the same thing, bánh xèo, along with several other new dishes. So far I didn't really think that the other dishes were any special. They were all just okay. The disappointing thing is that as I keep coming, my favorite dish gets worse and worse. The last few times didn't have some of the herbs. This time my crepes were extra greasy to the point where there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the plate. I used two napkins to soak up as much oil as I can and there was still more. Once again the only herbs I got were the basil. It did come with a little bit of cucumber and pickled daikon and carrots. The problem with those were they look as if they were really old. There was a lot of discoloration and the cucumbers were starting to shrivel up and wilt. One upside was that it was really crispy. Another thing was they increased their prices for a lot of their dishes. Some were crazy high. For example, summer rolls are usually $7 to $9 at most places. It was $15 here. I wouldn't mind paying more if there was more to it. There wasn't any cucumbers, pickles, bean sprouts or any herbs inside. I was very disappointed with it and especially for the price that we paid. I don't know if I will be coming back. Don't get me wrong. I would not discourage anyone from coming to eat here. It's not bad, it's just...
Read moreOverall: I won't eat here again. It's overpriced for what they offer.
Folks, you're better off eating at many other Vietnamese places around Kapolei that serve fresher food for more fair prices for the portions and quality (food and service) they give you.
Food
Manapua - Luke warm, average taste, overpriced for $7. Appears not made in house for the price.
Large Special Combination Pho - Normal. Not worth $20. The meat portions are also super stingy. I mean, half a beef ball in an expensive soup...come on! Also, the tiny lemon piece you gave me for the soup screams you're penny pinching.. even for the piece in the water! But, I suppose I should've guessed that, considering you couldn't even have new menus done when you changed your prices, but still trying to give off a hip vibe...
Service - Rushed. Between sitting and bringing me water, only a minute passed. Two minutes after that, and you're already asking me what my order is. Not good. I didn't even have time to get situated with the menu. Then, in the end, you don't even tell me I need to bring myself to the front to pay until I interrupt you, asking for it, as you're serving someone else; tell me that before I sit around, waiting for a check that was never going to come on its own!
Atmosphere - Feels like a party with your Vietnamese party music playing on the TV. I came in at 5:50 PM and I already feel like I'm partying by myself in this big restaurant. I hope others eat here and I'm not...
Read moreWhat a horrible place! It's amazing how this place stays in business. We had gone there just because they were the only place open at 9am before my wife had to go to work. The old guy there had a bad attitude that went along with the bad food. The Spicy Noodle soup was not good at all and even a simple and EXPENSIVE sandwich wasn't right. But the real issues was that after pushing aside the horrible food and we went to pay for it out of commitment...The old guy over charged us! It's no wonder he's all BLINGED OUT! He's ripping off his customers! The menu prices don't match what he had charged! And when I had brought up the fact that the menu has a price of $16.99 for the soup and why was I being charged $17.99, the attitude really came out! I was told that the prices have been raised for a long time! What the heck?!?! Why not change the menu to reflect it! So for a garbage sandwich we paid $14.99, and sucky Spicy Noodle Soup, $17.99 and a mediocre Viet Coffee, $6.99 along with a generous serving of PISS POOR ATTITUDE, which was free, I'm looking forward to getting the word out on my other pages. What junk.
Oh...By the way...Reason for the 1 star regarding the atmosphere...When you sit down, just look how dirty the seats are. Guess they don't believe using a little soap and water at this place, that was the first thing I had noticed....And it should have...
