There’s a lot to unpack here. When we first walked up to the host stand, the hostess was talking to a customer, looked at us, and went back to talking to him. We didn’t even think she was the hostess at first because she was talking to him for a good 5 minutes before she even said anything to us and got us seated
Our server was okay at first, but we felt slightly rushed and didn’t even get a chance to look over the food or drink menu before she asked what we wanted. While we were trying to decide what to order, our server had an incident with another couple that got sat down after us. I don’t know what exactly what was said, but whatever happened between them made the couple upset and storm out of the restaurant.
Once, we finally figured out what we wanted, I ordered a drink called the “Lychee Refresher”. I pronounced it “lee-chee”. The server said to me in a rude tone and a deadpan face, “It’s lie-chee. It’s a fruit.” First of all, if you’re going to correct someone, at least be right about it because you can pronounce it either way. Second, I’m an Asian woman so of course I know what a lychee is and I don’t need someone schooling me on a fruit that comes from my own continent.
To top it off, the food was not good either. My boyfriend ordered the Korean style wings and told me they were dry and cold.
Just skip out on this place as there are much better places to eat and...
Read moreMy husband and I went for supper at 5 pm at Quinn's Amost by the Sea, which is across the street from the King Kamehameha Hotel. The restaurant was fairly full, but we were seated right away on the covered back patio. Our server, Christian, took our drink order right away, but I had to wait about 10 minutes to get my draft beer as they had to change kegs. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi, and my husband ordered the Ono Fish and Chips. The food took about 25 minutes to come out, but it was well worth the wait! The Shrimp Scampi was seven large shrimp cooked in garlic butter served on a bed of fettuccine with sauté mushrooms and more garlic and parmesan cheese sprinkled overtop with a side of garlic toast. It was delicious! I literally wanted to lick my plate clean, it was so good! My husband's Ono Fish and Chips was five pieces of Ono (each piece about the size of a deck of cards) in a light batter deep fried to perfection. No greasy, oily tasting fish - just a nice taste of fish. The fries are steak fries and are good. He's not really a fry guy and only ate a few. He was more interested in the fish and really enjoyed it. We shared a piece of Lili cheesecake that was the perfect ending to a great meal. Total cost of meal before tip was $60.99. I would highly recommend going to Quinn's Almost by the Sea for your...
Read moreNot sure how to review since Were not able to eat there. After standing and waiting for 20 minutes, And watching other people just walk out we decided to leave. When I approach one of the managers, she pretty much ignored me. As I went back to the reception desk, there were other people behind us that didn't know what was going on. Finally, I was told that they had a party Of 20 coming in at 7 o'clock they they are preparing for, but it was 3:30 in the afternoon. She said they had to be careful because if they had people stay too long, they couldn't seat their party of 20 so they were reserving those tables for the next three hours to make sure they had room. The amount of people you just lost more than accounted for the 20 You were preparing for. They didn't seem to care as people just Decided to go somewhere else. Meanwhile, they were trying to find a shirt for somebody that took an extra 10 minutes and then two gentlemen got upset because they couldn't get their check. And then we left and the poor girl upfront said it's just been a crazy day. Nobody knows what they're doing around here right now. After being the silence several times, we really wanted to try this place, but it seemed...
