Starbucks — Restaurant in Hawaii

Update June 4 2024

I stopped for the internet and a cup of coffee. I had barely logged on when my laptop needed to be plugged in. I saw no outlets anymore, so I asked a barista and she told me that corporate Starbucks had them disabled because homeless people were using them. Too true.

I downgrade you to 1 star.

Ironically, the coffee was delicious!

This used to be my go-to location before the virus, I live in Kona hema. So when they reopened, I stopped to have a coffee and read the internet. OHOH, we have only the Starbucks Pike place blend. Incredulously, I asked, so you have no dark roast coffee, no blond roast coffee at all? Not after 11:00, we stop serving hot coffee.

Stunned, I looked at the menu board, looked away, looked back at her...She offered something she called an Americano...

I think I said uhhh, because she walked away...I was taking to long, I sensed. It was me.

I did manage to remember that they offered a delicious Kona Coffee, so I blurted out, do you still have the Kona coffee? To her back because she had returned to her Barista tasks. But she did hear me, cuz she turned around to proclaim, almost triumphantly, No.

Several more moments passed, I resisted the urge to order something new, something certainly wonderful and delicious...something cold, perhaps.

I blurted out, Ok, Thanks. And shot the crew, now oddly aware, a weak smile. And left.

The second star was for because it smelled so wonderful, so fresh brew coffee,...

This Starbucks is one of only a few on this island, its always busy in the morning, and i believe is the only standalone store meaning not inside of a grocery store or other business. Over the course of the last 4-5 days I have visited this location as it is closest to where I’m stay and conveniently located near the highway for early morning trips to different parts of the island. The issue is the lack of consistency on the drinks. I order the same drink and have ordered the same drink for years and at this store each day is a mystery game waiting to find out how my drink will turn out.

I ordered a 4 shot espresso over ice with white mocha and a touch of half and half, as well as a pink drink and an americano hot.

The iced drink came out a few shades darker than a glass of milk and tasted like they had run the same grounds for the first two shots and the second two shots. The pink drink was white nowhere near pink and tasted unlike any pink drink I’ve had...

The absolute worst customer service I have ever received. The female employee who I assume is the manager is out of control. She yelled at me and then refused me service after I tried to throw my dog's potty bag in their outside dumpster. I have never had such hostility and amount of unprofessionalism at a store before. What kind of employee actually takes the time to walk out from behind the counter and walk outside to their trash can area to yell at a customer ? My dog was leashed to a chair on their patio and I was just trying to come inside their store to order my daily drink. I wasn't trying to bring my dog inside the store and I wasn't trying to throw his potty bag in a trash can inside this door. When I walked inside the manager was speaking to the cashier and then the manager walked into the back and the cashier actually turned his back to me and never turned back around to take my order. Something needs to be done about them....
