My family randomly wandered into Stillwell's yesterday, not knowing what we were in for. I'd never had dry mein before, so I tried their veggie version and thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter ordered what turned out to be one of the most magnificent BLTs I've ever seen. But Momo, their marketing guru, explained that their chocolate-dipped creme horns have been famous for thirty years. We opted to give it a try and were thoroughly delighted. Equally pleasing was their chocolate eclair and their amazing apple tart. I told Momo that I felt I'd have to skip the sweetest-looking fruit tart because my order was already loaded with sugar and I had a great fruit tart connection back home in Indy (hello, Renee's).... "All the sugar," she said with a smile. When I opened the pastry box, she'd tucked on of those fruit tarts in. Mahalo for your hospitality, Momo! I'm sure glad I didn't miss that! Love their mini cream horns, strawberry florentine cups, bread pudding, crab and chicken salads and pies. Used to like their pasta salad, but I bought one not too long ago and it tasted sour. Possibly because it was the container on the top in a different (new) refrigeration display which is open. I had the crab cake sandwich recently with both the croissant and the grain bread. With the croissant, the sandwich was delicious. With the grain bread, it wasn’t good. The grain bread had a good flavor, but very dry and stale. We recently ordered their noodles and meatball sandwich and both were ruined by someone who is extremely heavy handed with black pepper for some reason. Most of the food is decent, but quite pricey so not a place we go often.

Mini Cream Horns are worth the hype! It reminds me of Paalaa Kai Bakery’s Snow Puffies on Oahu, but I honestly think these cream horns are way better. The chocolatey goodness with the custard and powdered sugar is so ono! It’s a nice small treat to have now and later. After trying one I went back again another day to buy a dozen for a family party and a dozen frozen ones to bring back to Oahu. Bonus is that the mini cream horns stay crispy and crunchy even if you keep it for 1-2 days in your fridge whereas the Snow Puffies will get soggy. You can buy them frozen or fresh so bringing them from island to island is no problem. I’ll be back next time to try their food since I also heard good things about it.

Pastries, muffins, and foccacia are delicious but service protocol was frustrating for me. I ordered at the counter and instead of filling a box while I pointed to items in the glass case, they asked me to wait in a chair. I was wondering if there would be an error, because I was not watching them load the box. I couldn't check it on the way out, because they taped it shut. The box felt light. My suspicions were confirmed when I opened it with family. I called, the person agreed to a refund but did not specify the amount to be refunded and said it would not happen for a couple of days, so I need to check my credit card transactions later this week to see if the refund actually happened.

First time having brunch here after living in Maui 20 years!!! I never knew about this place and I'm huge pastry lovers ( I usually drive all way to Kula Bistro and now I can say from my own experience this bakery is actually better and prices are much more responsible!!) I could buy much more!! Really enjoyed almost every item...check out photos..we shared huge Greek Salad ( had to take home it was so generous!!) Excellent customer service. Also. Highly highly recommend. I'm sure they get busy since not many tables to sit so may want to order take out!!
