This is the WORST experience I have ever had. I would rate a negative 5 star if there is an option. As a traveler I have been to many major airports including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Paris, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, etc. I have had so many connected flights when I spent time shopping and enjoying the food and drinks in the airport. That's the point of the restaurant and bars in the airport right? For people to sit down to eat and drink, and to pass some time before departure or in between flights. And as an airport, especially tourism location you would expect travelers with a diverse background. Let me tell you my experience at this place: I ordered 2 appetizers on the menu and a drink. I gave more than 20% tips to the waiter. The total was about $45. After I finished my food, I sit there with a glass of water. The waiter came to ask if I need anything else. I told him that was all. Since the restaurant was not busy at all, there were plenty of open seats, I told the waiter I will continue to enjoy myself for a little while until my flight time. Everything is absolutely normal right? Guess what the waiter say, he said if I do not want to order anymore I should leave because this place is not for people to sit around, I should leave so they could have the seat available for other customers. I didn't say anything and left the seat. I thought this was REALLY RUDE, I have had food and drinks in many airports but NEVER had one place asked me to leave after I finished my food. So I went to the manager, I explained to him the situation, guess what the manager said? He said the same thing as the waiter did, basically I need to leave if I have finished my food. Unfortunately, there were A LOT open tables, and right next to where I was talking to the manager, a young girl was sitting there by herself, she did not order anything and was drinking a STARBUCKS drink. Another table next to us was a couple sitting there in the same situation as I was before, they were just talking to each other and drinking water, no food or drink on their table. The manager just LIED TO MY FACE. I realized there might be some more "profound reason" behind this, ALL of them were white. I wasn't, I was a foreigner with an accent. I asked the owner " well if what you said was true, then can you please go ask that lady who was drinking STARBUCKS by herself to leave then? I want to see you do this to convince me". And guess what the manager did this time?? He threatened me that if I don't leave he would call the airport security. WOWW, just WOOOOWWW, this is another level of rudeness. Not only did they asked me to leave after I ate and PAID, but now they also will call the security to get me out of here!!!! "For what reason?" I asked the manager, and I told him I have done nothing wrong, it is him who should explain to the airport security what he did wrong, Not me. I did not bother any customers here. The manager was the one who harassed me! Unbelievably he manager did call the security. Fortunately, the airport security in Kahului has a brain in his head, after he listened to my story. He told me there are many actions I can take, including writing reviews on Google and Yelp. The security has common sense and was kind. I took his advice and write this. This is 2019 (for God's sake!), I just can't believe this happened, and this happened to me. Some how Rosa Parks' name popped in my head, ironically, I was not American, nor was I black. I was just one of the tourist who came to Hawaii for a nice vacation! This restaurant can go operate in a small village of 100% white population, I would have no problem with that, but NOT IN THE AIRPORT PLEASE. I just want to warn everyone about this restaurant, this is a horrible place, and I have had a horrible experience. If you read this, take my advice and do NOT go to this...
Read moreI would like to tell you about our experience today at your restaurant. My husband and I just got done standing in the airport customer service line working out our delayed flights and connections. We finally get into the airport around 935 940. We approach the restruant to be told very rudely by a gentlemen and lady that "were closed" and nothing else, not even any eye contact or a smile (keep in mind your sign says it closes at 10, not last call at 945 and close at 10. A simple "I'm sorry folks but we've already done last call, how about a cup of water for the road for the inconvince" or a simple "I'm sorry folks but we've already done last call for the night due to closing soon and resurtant rules" I'm pregnant and really wanted food. My husband would have liked a beverage before everything closed down. With all the fustrations and emotions going on my husband did not respond to the rude "were closed" comment well and asked the gentlemen why they were closed multiple times until he was given a straight answer from anybody. The gentlemen working contiues to says "because we are closed" instead of explaining to my husband the resuatnts rules on last call at the establishment. After my husband asked the employee to explain why multiple times he finally gets the answer and we start to walk away very upset. The employee contiues to follow right behind us out the restruant saying stuff under his breathe Like saying keep talking keep talking instead of just Letting it go. Of course emotions are high and my husband tells the employee to shut the hell up until he finally stopped following us. We continue down to our gate number minding our own business to be approached by a police officer saying my huaband was harrsing everybody at the restruant! So now my flight is delayed, my husband and I are hungry and upset due to the lack of customer service skills from the resuratnt and now having to deal with the police stopping by! The office was nice and of course got our side of the story and did nothing about it. The employee could of easily been the bigger person and just let my husband walk away. Maybe if him and his crew was trained on how to handle these kind of scenarios better or have a sign saying last call 945 close at 10 all of this could have...

Decor & Menu - Decent decor, food reasonably priced. Good location to have a quick bite of food (or a drink) before you board. Plenty of seating available. Wasn't too crowded either
Drinks - We ordered two cocktails - Tropical Itch (on the left) and Doctor's Orders Pain Killer (On the right). The drinks were highly disappointing, with absolutely no hint of the alcohols in them. So much so that we were left wondering if they were Cocktails or Mocktails. Also, the specialty drinks are overpriced. Order a beer if you really want to drink your alcohol before boarding
Food - We ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken sandwich with a side of potato chips and the Grilled chicken Brie sandwich with a side of french fries. Burgers are definitely better than some of the other options you have at the airport (Burger King, as an example) but that doesn't say a lot about the food The guacamole side order tasted and smelled funny. We suspect it wasn't fresh at all
Service - The service deserves a special mention because it was absolutely and positively horrendous. We were standing at the door for more than 10 minutes, waiting to be seated. It was late in the evening and the place wasn't even half full. A server must've walked past us at least 5 times, scowled at us a couple of times but didn't bother to check with us. However, we were hungry and we're shameless as well. So finally, another server took pity on us After seating, we immediately ordered the drinks and then the food. However, the drinks were served AFTER the food, despite the fact that we could see them ready at the bar, waiting there for more than 10 minutes. All in all, a very poor experience. Left a bad taste after the wonderful Hawaii trip that we had. Won't recommend this place at all even to...
