Review of the pinoy tamales at Valerio’s Hayward. When we first tried their tamales (it first came out at their Union City store), it was outstanding. But the quality deteriorated over time. For the past year, we have been buying the Tamales at the Southland Mall Hayward location, and it has slowly deteriorated in quality. Last week, we bought 8 and my family members noticed that the texture is now ‘gaw-gaw’, like a tender kutsinta, a jelly’ish brown steamed rice flour cake. This latest Valerio’s tamales recipe is unappetizing, a far cry from their initial recipe that we had bought and enjoyed in the past. Like I said, it was like jello.
Hey Valerios, at a price of almost $6 each, we hope you can bring back your good quality tamales. Penny-pinching is good for the profit margin but there will be no profit if less of your patrons will buy it. Sadly, that will be our very last time to buy tamales. We’ll buy again when we hear it...

Hayward location only... Their bibingkang malagkit was hard both times I have purchased. After this, I hesitate to try the other similar items.
Hayward, Union City, and Milpitas locations... Just about everytime I have gotten the cream cheese or pineapple cream cheese haba haba, there has been some portion that was not fully cooked. Spreading the filling more evenly or less filling would probably help this situation.

They coconut buns here were $4.49 for 5 and the other one had it for $2.49 for 6.
Señorita bread is .40 cents each at the other bakery and here it’s a 5 pack for $9.
Rip off!!! It’s so expensive you might as well go to red ribbon and buy a whole cake for that price.
