Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Heath

Long John Silver's needs to invest some money in their restaurants and tidy them up a bit, they're starting to look kind of skanky. For instance, when you walk up to the countertop, it should be clean and shiny, not have fingerprints all over it and looking like it's 200 years old.

I happened to make it in on crab cake Friday, cakes are only a buck a piece! The crab cakes are perfect, but they're fantastic for a fast food place. And yes, the food is greasy, but I only visit maybe once every few years, so I'm not worried about the heart attack today. Workers are very friendly and polite, I was very pleased after communicating with whom I believe was the manager or the team leader tonight while waiting on my order. The food was hot, very good, and in ample quantities. No, it's not healthy food, but it's really good and since I rarely visit fast food restaurants, I'm not too worried about it affecting my health.

My review was lacking one star due to the condition of the restaurant.

Oh, and by the way, when the bathroom door closes it sounds like someone is passing gas, so the people sitting near that door...

We ordered on the app and our pickup time was 12:23. We got there on time and were told it would be just a few minutes. A few minutes later the lady came back and handed us our drink and stated it would be just a few more minutes because they were waiting on chicken. We waited and waited and waited. The car behind us got tired of waiting and left. Finally at 12:37 (14 minutes after our pickup time), we got our food. While she was handing us the bag, she looked back for the other car that was in the drive thru. We told her he left. She just shrugged and said they had gotten behind and she was catching them up. No one else was there. It was a hot day and all the ice in my drink had melted, she was just like yeah sorry about that, without even an offer to make it right. Despite the poor reviews, we were hungry for fish and decided to give LJS a chance. The building appears neglected, but the cashier was friendly and helpful; and we purchased a meal to share. But red flags went up when our food was ready immediately (fish should be cooked to order, we thought). Amazingly, the fish, when we sampled a smidge before leaving (we planned to eat at the park), was decently good. But the fries were decidedly “dead.” They were hard, only remotely warm, and definitely not fresh. By then we didn’t want fresh fries and now-cold fish, and felt the bad reviews valid; so we asked to return the meal. That is when the employees turned sour. They did, amazingly, give our money back, but they did so with rudeness and scowls (even down to the cook scowling through the pass-food-through opening!). We won’t return to this...
