To be fair, this location is usually right on it and we always have a good experience. Not this time. We went on a Sunday at opening time and a family who looked like they were having a reunion, had already taken over dodge city. They took all the handicap spots plus parking right across from the door. All were upright and walking, including the elders. My wife is in a wheelchair and we needed one of those spots. We waited for the family to be seated as the waiting area is not the biggest but they were still in the lobby when we went in. To add insult, I opened the entry door for my wife and one of the late family members jumped in front of my wife and went through the door. Granted he looked like he was in the movie deliverance but maybe you shouldn’t be allowed out if you have the manners of a 2 year old ( He was at least in his 60’s). Then another family tried to take our spot in line. We were off to the side so not to block people off with the wheelchair. Now I know if you don’t let worthless entitled rude people in, you wouldn’t have much of a restaurant business. That’s not Olive Garden’s fault. What bothered me is the extremely long time it took to seat these fools so we would have as little contact and disruption as possible. This was right at opening time and all seating was available so it’s a little different than din din time on a Saturday night. Also the hostess should have asked who was next rather than assume the person in front of her was next. We got in an argument with the family trying to ditch us. This could have...
Read moreI have eaten here before, and it’s actually one of the better Olive Garden locations I’ve been to food wise. And I’ve been to a LOT of Olive Gardens due to my son’s medical condition. He struggles with ARFID (Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), and one of only about five foods he eats is the grated cheese from Olive Garden. The Zanesville location has been wonderful about allowing me to purchase the cheese from them in the quantities my son needs.
However, I was in Heath today and wanted to avoid having to go all the way back to Zanesville, but I knew we were completely out of his cheese at home, so I figured we’d stop and get some here. I tried to explain the situation to the manager and even had my 8-year-old son with me also trying to explain, but she refused to sell it to me, claiming they have no way to ring it up, which I know is not true because the Zanesville managers do it for me all the time.
This is not the end of the world because I did go 45 minutes out of my way today to get it from Zanesville. But I want to say that I hope the manager at the Heath location never knows the pain, fear, and frustration of doing all you can but still not being able to feed your child like you want to. If you’re reading this, I urge you to read up on ARFID and to be more open minded to the dietary needs and preferences of your customers in the future, even if they sound strange or are an...
Read moreWe visited Olive Garden today for my birthday. The food and service was great. As we were packing up to leave, our server came over to inform my brother that he needed to pay $11. He said he already paid the full $25 bill and showed her that it was showing on his bank account. The server offered to get her manager to talk to my brother. When the manager came over, he was very condescending. He said that HE would “take care” of the bill. My brother told him that if for some reason the money didn’t clear his account, he would gladly come back in to ensure it was paid. The manager again said not to worry bc he would just take care of it and then walked away. A few minutes later, we were leaving the restaurant and the manager approached us again, in front of a lobby full of waiting customers, and said “don’t worry about the bill, I took care of it”. He was VERY rude and was obviously attempting to make my family look bad even though the bill was paid. My brother has since checked with his financial institution to ensure there wasn’t a glitch on their end. They have assured him that the transaction was in fact approved and is being paid and that if there was a glitch, it was on Olive Gardens systems. We have gone to this location for years and are extremely disappointed in the way the manager handled this situation. It was a negative ending to a nice...
