Gourmet Buffet — Restaurant in Hemlock Township

About 22 years ago when my disabled sons were 6 and 8 years old, Ken (hubby) and I decided to shop at the Buckhorn mall in Bloomsburg, Pa.

We had a good time with the Boys acting well and mannerly. So we decided to go Asian and, as it was around 5pm on Saturday, the place was packed.

Thus began an hour long orchestrated ballet, of herding each boy individually through the buffet so they could choose what they wanted. I'd stay with one at the table and Ken would take the other, back and forth we went. Finally Ken and I went and got our own meals, one at a time. And we sat and enjoyed the repast, with occasional jaunts back to get seconds for the boys and us.

Thus our sons were extremely well-behaved, cooperative and having no tantrums like you see out of special needs kids in many scenarios. We packed up everything and went to pay our check and depart.

Well, lo and behold, another patron had completely paid for our meal and we were😲 stunned! Apparently they saw the effort it was to feed our complex family quietly and efficiently.

It was remarkable and it is one of the true highlights of our kids...

Would give zero stars if possible. Have been doing there every year while at knobles since it's near the hotel. Used to be quality food that was hot fresh and abundant. Staff was friendly fast and polite. Until I just want again August 2024. I went there with my family on this past Friday 8/23/24. The man who sat is was friendly but the waitress was standoffish and rude. She constantly had her arms reaching across our table reaching for stuff we weren't even done with our plates. Besides the food was cold, bland and filthy. Just disgusting. Food looks unappealing especially the dessert. It tasted like cardboard and very stale. The one was sweeping so hard the dirt was flying every right around where you get the food. My son asked the lady for a refill on his drink and she was so nasty. And the worst part was when we paid the lady stood there with her hand out while I counted my change. She was so close to me just standing there with her hand out. I was trying to have my son help me count my ones she said 3x is that for me. I was disgusted and offended. How rude. Moral of the story is this place a dump and don't...

To start off we got there and they instantly give us the check, we didn't even have our first plate yet. I brushed it off and was like ok whatever, I got my first plate and things we're ok, till went to get fruit, OMG THERE WAS BUGS IN IT!!!!! I brought it back to my table and my husband was in mid bite and I was like ok, I'm not going to make a scene but look, he see it and he almost threw up, I told him we have to leave. So we go up to the front desk, I showed dude the bugs an I was like I'm not paying u for this, this is nasty! He totally ignored me and said I need to pay full price $18.58. I said hell no! U expect a pregnant women and her family to eat bugs and pay for it!!!! Then he said ok u pay $17 that's it. I said did u not hear me? I'm not paying for this, Then he said well bugs fly around. Omg I tossed his fourton cookies on the counter and said this is unprofessional!!! I left and he followed us saying I call cops u leave. Lol he didn't but omg do not bring ur family there!!!!!
