I want everyone to be aware that the Olive Garden in Bloomsburg does not appreciate or care for our service members. I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE OR ANY OLIVE GARDEN EVER AGAIN. I would rate this a 0, but Google will not let me. A little in sight into what happened is on Veterans day 3 service members and I and one of the other service members girlfriends went to eat for veterans day. We ended up waiting 2 and a half hours to leave because our server disappeared and then came back to take our checks, but when I commented that the system made a mistake on our bill I was cursed out, called stupid, and had our bill ripped up in front of us and then thrown on the table. When I asked for a manager, he was unapologetic, never introduced himself, and was rude and unprofessional. He then took our checks to which I thought he was going to cash out, but instead we ended up waiting another 30 minutes just to have the bill thrown at us by our server, not the manager who took it. I contacted the company, to which I have never done to any company before, because I was absolutely disgusted and appalled! The company sent us a $50 gift card and 3 complementary Veterans Day passes to each of the service members in our party to come back again. However, the Veterans Day passes said they expired November 18th, but we did not receive them in the mail until November 24th. When I called Olive Garden they informed me that the service members could use the passes at any time because they would not expire. This was not the case. One of the service members in my party went to use his pass today (12/11/17) before he deploys in a couple weeks. Upon his arrival he was informed that he was not allowed to use the pass and was rudely denied service for his pass. As he was sitting in the parking lot I called Olive Garden to try to talk to one of the managers so he could still go in and have dinner. I wanted to give them my name, explain the situation, and give them the name of the manager who said we could use the card. However, upon calling I was rudely dismissed and was denied access to talking to one of the managers by a staff member because they were "busy." I was very persistent in wanting to talk to the manager because the service member was still waiting in the parking lot and I wanted to make sure he could go in and have dinner. The staff transferred me to someone who was, still, not the manager and was told to call back later when they were not busy even though I wanted to get the problem solved so the service member could go in and eat. I called around 6:30 pm and was told to call back in 2 hours. Severely angry I told the service member to go somewhere else because the Olive Garden in Bloomsburg clearly does not care about our Veterans! I plan on calling them back and telling them I am never going back and am going to let everyone know that this is how they treat our service members! I also emailed the corporation to let them know that I will NOT be using their gift card and want no compensation because I will not be going back and am letting everyone know that this is how Olive Garden in Bloomsburg treats it's...
Read moreI am a little disappointed in our local Olive Garden tonight. I ordered the tour of Italy online with a pick up time of 5:33 PM. I stopped at Walmart to pick up a household item before picking up my dinner and when I arrived it was about 5:40 PM, so I was a little late. I pulled into the parking lot. I could not find my order on my app the way it usually sits right when you open up your Olive Garden app. So I went inside to pick up my order and when I gave my name, there was a lot of confusion, girls looking at the computer and nothing sitting on the Counter waiting to be picked up. And then I looked at my phone and there was a notification that my dinner had been picked up so I said hey it says I picked up my order already and that’s when I was lied to for the first time when one of the Server girls said oh that’s because I just rang you out. But then she had to call a chef type manager person over to the computer as well and then finally somebody said it’s on its way. That was the second lie. I was unhanded a receipt with really no explanation as to what the delay was. So I had a seat to wait. About seven minutes past and a server came out and looked at my receipt. She said nothing and went back into the kitchen and came back out with my dinner. So I asked her what happened. After a few sheepish seconds, she finally confessed that she gave my meal to someone else and they had to remake it. But she also said,“ hey at least it’s really fresh now!” This is not how you conduct a business and this is not customer service. This is excuses and not explanations and apologies. The manager should have offered an apology, it should have been explained that “oh my gosh I’m so sorry I gave your meal to someone else. Please have a seat and we’ll have a fresh one prepared for you immediately. And while you’re waiting, would you like a glass of water or a soda. Or perhaps we can comp you with a dessert for your time and trouble.” But I suppose that’s asking too much. A little honesty goes along long way. And a little lie goes even further. I will not be coming back to this Olive Garden anytime soon. Oh, and when I got home, though the meal was delicious, there were no...
Read moreLet's face it, Olive Garden in general is a packaged fast food specialty chain. You can go to one in any state and expect same experience. Bloomsburg is different. In fact, I ran into an experience at this particular restaurant that you probably won't get at any. My day started at 3:30am, I woke to make it to a 5:50am flight out of Louisville to Charlotte to Hartford, CT. Where I had a friend drive me a few hours into Massachusetts. I purchased a car and began driving home to Indiana. By the time I got to Bloomsburg, I was exhausted, and it was 10:40pm. I had not had lunch and really did not want a fried fast food experience. Soup sounded great and I saw the Olive Garden on the hill. I walked in and noticed it was empty and asked if they were open. Instead of exasperation or a "we close in a few minutes" I got an enthusiastic yes followed by a kind escort to a table. I apologized and said I just wanted some soup and would get on my way quick. I was then encouraged by the server Nick to have whatever meal I wanted and not to worry about time. I still just requested soup and a salad. He brought it quickly and the soup was hot and hit the spot. He apologized profusely that they were out of breadsticks and gave me a coupon to make up for that. He was attentive and kind. The kitchen staff was just as nice as well. I got out of there 3 minutes after close and was beyond grateful for the service and kindness in a situation it wasn't really deserved. If you live in the area or visit, this is not your typical Olive Garden, enjoy yourself. Enjoy that you will be treated as a welcome guest. Ask for Nick (Nicholas M. on...
