My husband and I have enjoyed our last 3 visits to Jaffre's and have not been disappointed in anyway each time. So we said to our boys about going there with us on Saturday night, as well as a friend of ours. So Saturday night we decided we would all meet there for a late super.
Again we were not disappointed and neither were our guest!
Since we had a party of 5 and did not call ahead, we had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated--normal for any busy place on a Saturday night. But the atmosphere was wonderful and we could have went out to the bar while we waited, but we decided to wait in the hall. It did not seem to take long at all till we were at our table. Believe me it was quite worth the wait! Usually we are seated on the back side away from the bar area, this time we walked past the bar, through the game room, and into the back dinning room. The game room has a few games and a pool table.
We usually ask for Isaiah, however since it was a Saturday night it was packed and Isaiah was slammed, so we had Jess as a waiter and she was just as wonderful! She had a great attitude and even though the place was buzzing with people coming in, she was very upbeat & attentive. The tables had black table cloths on them with black cloth napkins, the set up very classy and stylish!
The drinks were served in a timely manor and she took our orders right away. I had my now usual Southern Chicken with no bun and my husband ordered the same thing this time. My one son ordered the fish sandwich and my other son ordered the Cajun chicken, our friend ordered a chicken pasta dish. The food was served in a timely manor and was hot when it came to our table--especially since they were so busy! The food was presented in a very appetizing manor that made our taste buds drool!
Everyone at our table was over whelmed with the flavor and could not believe how good it was to the last bite. My one son who had the Cajun chicken said he love it and he is the picky one!
Then My husband and I got a cheese cake and split it--it was melt in your mouth delicious! Our friend decided to get a desert also, he got the bread pudding and almost fell off his chair with flavor. Then he gave me a spoon full to try it, it was so good!
We also seen at a table near us friends of ours and they were referred by a few friends also; and it was their first time there. They were raving about how good their food at their table too!
As I said before we were not disappointed...
Read moreThis was hard to rate. Mom and I had a much needed Mother Daughter Shopping and Late lunch date today. So she new about Jaffres and that's where we went. Upon entering a lady, who did not work at Jaffres, pushed us to the aide at the door so her and her husband could run to the bar/bar seating. Once entering the sweet hostess asked us if we wanted bar seating or the diner side. My Mom asked if all the tables bar side were high seats, she said yes, so we opted for the diner seating. That's when crazy Karen ran in the door on a hurry pushing us to the side. People can be so rude. Anyways our hostess was amazing. We got to our table and our server was Ian, I believe that was his name. He took out drink order, he came back and took our food order. Mom and I decided to get a pizza AND SO GLAD WE DID! The pizza was FANTASTIC! Sauce was GREAT! DOUGH was great! Toppings (Pepperoni and onion) were GREAT!.. UNFORTUNATELY Ian, our server never came back. A girl brought our food out. Our server never checked on us to get a refill. We had to flag down another waitress to get a box and our check. Then when our server finally came back he asked if we needed anything else while handing us the check. Really? Yeah we probably would've gotten another drink, maybe dessert, and ordered food for our family at home but we were over it. So we said no, paid the bill and left. Really stinks because the food was fantastic but the service was absolutely horrible. He had 3 tables. We were there before the other 2 tables so before someone says he might have been busy, trust me, we watched and tried giving him the benefit of the doubt also. But hey maybe he was new ... we don't know. He wasn't rude by any means. He was just absent. So after we left we went to Chick-fil-A drive thru to get a drink.. I'll share a few pics of the menu and the...
Read moreGood first time visit yesterday.
Actually it was our second attempted visit. The first time we tried, we went on a Friday night at 5:40pm and there was no parking available. The bowling alley parking lot was empty but had a bunch of signs that said for their patrons only, so we went somewhere else. Thought we would try again last night (a Sunday) and there were two spots in the parking lot. The place is really big inside, so the size of the parking lot to me is a little odd/inconvenient.
The hostess was really friendly and welcomed us when we told her we were first time visitors. Our waitress recommended a few appetizers to us and we settled on the arancini, which was delicious and a pretty generous portion. For entrees, my husband ordered the sausage cavatelli and I ordered the capellini Jaffre. We both got side salads with the entree.
We didn’t realize that meals come with Italian bread, which was came out warm and was sweet and dense- really nice.
The side salads were kind of …sad.. to be honest. Iceberg only lettuce with a beet slice, cucumber slice and two cherry tomatoes. Might go for soup as the side next time.
My entree was okay. The seafood was nice, but the sauce lacked complexity. My husband and I both thought it probably would improve with more citrus and salt.
His entree on the other hand was excellent. The cavatelli was high quality pasta and the sauce was savory and complex- I would order it next time except that I’m not a big sausage fan. We were both surprised at how generous the entree portions are! Mine will probably equal out to three meals for me and two for him.
Overall, a pretty good first experience and we will try to come back (as long as we can find a parking spot) to try more of the recommended items...
