Very Honest Review.
Let me start off by saying we had a reservation for 7:30PM and were told by the three ladies standing at the front when we checked in at 7:30, that it would be ANOTHER 15 minute wait, even though we could visibly see seats at the bar (which we would've gladly taken if offered) and 3 or 4 open tables. After we were seated we were told our waiter would be with us shortly. Before our official server arrived at our table we were approached by three different staffers. A woman who didn't even know how many enchiladas come in the meal, a busser that gave us salsa and a bowl of broken chips and a gentleman dressed nicely, who was the reason for the second star, he was great and really nice. After 15 minutes of eating chips and salsa we were brought water and asked if we wanted appetizers to which we just orders some guac($14 btw for a small, shallow bowl of guac) and queso, also we told the woman taking our app order that the bill would be spilt (this is important later). FINALLY after two drink refills, two chip bowl refills, and one salsa refill, we were met by our server. (Please keep in mind, it was not particularly busy...) Our waiter (I think his name was...Adrian?) took our order and just as quickly as he arrived, he was gone. After about 45 minutes, and two rounds of "your food should be out shortly" we received our food. I'm sad to say that it was extremely underwhelming...I ordered enchiladas and it came with this red sauce on it that was extremely peppery and not very good at all, then while reviewing back over the menu I read that the enchiladas have an option of three different sauces (maybe 2 if im reading it wrong) but essentially you are to be offered either with a red, green or a crema sauce...I was not offered any of that and was presented with this terrible tasting red sauce. I was able to hail our waiter down and request some green sauce, but the red sauce was so overpowering, I took about two bites and was done. The beans were dry and the rice was sooo undercooked it was hurting my teeth. My friend ordered the queso birria tacos and explained to me that they were extremely dry and cold....I can only speak for myself though as i did not taste them. My husband loved the fajitas, and i will say the steak was cooked very nicely. Our other friend also ordered the same enchiladas as me and was unhappy with the red sauce.
Fast forward, we've eaten and are now waiting for our check, we hail down our waiter and he presents us a bill....not split. We explain to him what needs to be split and he states we will need to wait for his manager as he is the only one who can spilt bills. After another 20 minutes or so he comes back with the split bill and we pay/leave.
Overall, the experience was not great, food not great, I really wish we were offered the different sauces on the enchiladas, but maybe we should've asked....our waiter seems uninterested in our table and was extremely unattentively when it came to refills on water/soda, we had to constantly hail him down as he rushed by. I had high hopes but ill just stick to Cafe Rio for...
Read moreMy wife and I visited the Green Valley Ranch property on 2 Feb 2025 and during that time, I got increasingly hungry while playing on the casino floor. At one point, my senses were met with the wonderful aroma of Mexican cuisine which caused my stomach to rumble; yes, this exquisite aroma was coming from Borracha Mexican Cantina. As a result, I just had to try it and like Toucan Sam, I "followed my nose."
Since it was a spur-of-the-moment visit, we didn't make any reservations but were glad that they had several tables available for us. The hostess was professional but could've been a little more friendlier - maybe she was just having an off day (we all have them, regardless of on or off work). Regardless, the booth she sat us in was perfect. For the most part, the service was great...this effort was provided by Hans (who was our primary server for that evening). It did take a while in the beginning for anyone to bring us water and the chips/salsa, but it didn't ruin my night either. Speaking of chips and salsa...it was outstanding! I appreciated how much chips and salsa they serve from the beginning...I mean, I have never been to a Mexican-inspired restaurant that served salsa in a large bowl like they do here. I appreciated this because I can't stand having to be "reserved" with my chip dipping so others in the party can have some. Yes, I know you can always ask for more, but why not serve a lot in the beginning like this restaurant does.
We ordered the Mi Amigos 57' Cadillac Margarita and Blood Orange Margarita for our drinks; Short Rib Birria, Chile Relleno, and Carne Asada Taco (Hard Shell) for our entrées. Our drinks were magnificent and the food was good. The stand-out performer was clearly the Chile Relleno; the crispiness from the breading and the warm/softness on the inside provided a perfect balance of texture and taste/flavor.
The price-to-quantity/quality at this restaurant is unmatched and is very reasonable; I especially respect this business for their continued support to the men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! It's unfortunate for us that we live in the far Northwest part of Las Vegas so traveling to the Henderson area to have this place again wouldn't occur as often as we would like. However, if we're in the area again down the road, it's comforting to know there's a top quality restaurant like this within reach. I highly recommend this business...
Read moreI mean, for the venue I expected more. Happy Hour made me sad … lol … after watching the server bring out 2 tacos on a plate the size of a coffee cup saucer for $8.00. 3 nights ago, the margarita was in an 8oz glass. Today, small size margarita glass. 3 nights ago the chicken nachos covered the plate. What happened?? Seriously???

Response today 3:35 PM (2 hours ago) "I apologize my response wasn't returned in a timely manner. You had asked to let you know if I had any questions and that you had hoped the feedback given was helpful. It definitely was. As for resolving the issue, my kitchen team is working with different options for salsa flavor. The taco info I'm looking into as HH taco complaints are few and far between. I hold my staff, both front of house and back, extremely accountable as I'm held to the same standard from my upper management. I believe this is why we maintain high star reviews on all platforms and receive positive ratings/comments overall. It was not my intent to not respond, as I responded very quickly to your public review. We truly care here at Borracha and we were most definitely looking into it. "
Think he might have overlooked a few things? The food was bland, the salsa was absurd, the inconsistency with the way the bartender delivered the drink order, the disappearing server who brought the drink out after the food was on the table, and - yea - I get that it was Happy Hour, but, you are in a well-known Station casino... you would think that putting the tacos on a normal PLATE and adding a few items to garnish would have been a standard at minimum. As I said, I could have gotten a better deal and better tasting food from a street corner taco cart. At least they understand that adding the garnish is professional and providing salsa with flavor and a little bite to it is a standard expectation.
Keep your tacos and your happy hour. Lots of competition...
