Finally I'm posting a review for this place. I've had mixed feelings about it.
First Kat. Good person, great conversationalist and has a joke or two. Seriously though - she is the saving grace in this. Thank you for your awesome service Kat!
That's not what we come to restaurants for. Yes, it helps for the experience to be better - however let's face it folks, we come for the FOOD! No amount of awesome service experience can make up for that.
That being said - let's get one thing squared away - beer, wine and alcohol comes from a bottle/keg. A cocktail of course is left to judgement - my beer however was great. As expected from the draft or bottle.
So, moving on from alcohol... the food. Sub-par and something you could easily expect from a Las Vegas casino (especially the "locals" favorites).
Happy Hour. Cool. I can expect you're not bringing out the big guns here - however, have some pride.
I'll make it very direct;
Fries - did you reach at the bottom of the freezer bag? These things were like eating shattered pieces of glass. Seriously, fried potato shards aren't exactly enjoyable for anyone. "Fried" green beans - I guess I need to check my expectations for these. I think "fried" I assume breaded. That's on me for assuming - because they're green beans "fried" in oil. Which I would say "not long enough, that's for sure". Underwhelming. Lubricated green beans with some fresh garlic and maybe seasonings.
The Pizza. (Oh this is where it gets weird) Being as the Happy Hour menu really suited our appetite tonight, we decided to tapas style the experience. Pizza Rock is known for their pizza (it's in the name, c'mon!), and we have had their larger pizzas in the past, so we figured why not grab some personals and try some combos we haven't had. Well, let's just say the pizza experience from the larger pizzas doesn't transcend into the personal pizzas. They are poorly topped and the crust is less than desirable. The quality wasn't that much better than what you would find from a frozen pizza at your local store.
Also, being vegetarian, it somewhat cheats us to order off of this menu because they almost 80% of the time cater to the "mass audience", whatever that means, and so we find ourselves usually Frankenstein-ing some kind of "take this off and "sub this" type of scenario, or better yet, just cheese. Oh so fun. Tonight in particular, we ordered one of the more veggie heavy combos and asked to replace the prosciutto with artichoke hearts. The craziest thing happened, which happens often and I am being sarcastic, there's of course an up-charge. Yes friends, if you take the protein off (usually the most expensive part) and add a VEGETABLE, you will be charged more.
We gave up the artichokes, and of course no meat, and moved on.
Alright, so we decided to wrap this meal up, hopefully find salvation, and ordered the mud pie (which is pictured with this post).
This takes me back to a time where I remembered the fantasy of these decadent desserts was ruined when I found out most cakes or ice cream concoctions are stored frozen and then topped and dressed before they come out. (Is that a big deal, not really)
That is, unless it's too frozen when it comes out to eat. And it happened here. We got a frozen mud pie. It's ice cream, what's to complain about right? Well let's just say it took some serious patience, strength and overall after losing a few chunks to it shooting off of the plate and on to the floor (yes it was that hard) - that we gave up and Kat, again amazing server/bartender, took it off of our bill and ended the night.
I gave this experience a 2 stars. Through and through the food is what we come here for and now after having a mix of good and bad experiences, I know now that there's thoughtfulness from the kitchen that's extremely lacking. Owner of Pizza Rock - I've heard your story, I know you are an enthusiast and take your business seriously.
Truly, I really enjoy your Pizzas - and want to bring this up to five stars. Guess we will see on the...
Read moreAfter reading multiple reviews from other delivery drivers about this place I decided to add my own. I will decline any future orders from this place.
I went in to the pick up an Uber order. The friendly guy at the pickup counter was overwhelmed with orders and no managers ever came to help him out. He kept assuring me the order would be out in 10 minutes. I went walking the casino and then I came back. After waiting over 40 minutes they had somehow lost the ticket. He went to check with manager. It urns out they were out of the item ordered and mgrs walked by and took the ticket. I asked to speak to a manager and both female managers that I spoke to, could care less and had horrible attitudes. Excuse was they are very busy and things happen and I shouldn't be upset since it was already refunded. I asked what about my wasted time and why did they not cancel the order in the Uber system which would have automatically canceled and alerted me on the app and I would not have wasted so much time waiting . Instead I was there over 40 minutes waiting. Both mangers were rude but the main manager was horrible. From the moment she came out she was throwing additude even before I had a chance to speak. Kept rolling her eyes and putting hand on hip.
The service failures start with incompetent managers. They should have stepped in to help the guy at pickup counter instead of saying they were going to talk to him about it. They should have let him know they picked up the ticket instead of making him take the fall for the service failure and take the blame for a lost ticket. He was extremely nice and should not have to take the blame for the horrible management team standards. They also should have canceled the order in a timely manner instead of wasting the customers time and my time waiting on an order that will never be filled. I had to cancel the order on my end and informe the customer of the issue. I have eaten here before, the food is good but way over priced but that's not the problem. The truth is it's poorly ran. The servers are stressed and overwhelmed and not friendly. The server's attitudes are dictated by the management attitudes and the managers here were very rude. Mangers need retraining on how to deal with complaints without giving an attitude and rolling their eyes.
Even though delivery drivers don't work for the outlets, we are still representatives of each company that we deliver for. Customers are waiting on their orders to be delivered in a timely manner and if it's delivered cold or not delivered at all it not only reflects on the driver but it reflects on the outlet that the food was ordered from. These two managers could care less that they're wasting people's time if they don't work directly for them as they stated.
I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone using a third party ordering company to order from this this place. In Las Vegas there are definitely many places to order this type of food. Many places offer a better quality at a more reasonable price and without the...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner at Pizza Rock on 30 Aug 2025. I didn't make reservations because it was one of those spur-of-the-moment choices since we were in the immediate area. We arrived a little past the "normal" dinner hours which helped to get us seated right away. Yes, I highly recommend making reservations to prevent a long wait time because this place is very popular thanks to their other restaurant located in downtown Las Vegas (N. 3rd Street).
The service at this restaurant was impeccable; from the hostess who escorted us to our table (I didn't get her name...but the one who worked at that station ~8:30 pm). Additionally, our main server, Danielle, did an outstanding job that evening; she was "down to Earth," extremely attentive, and operated very efficiently. Also of noteworthy significance, the girl who brought us our drinks was very friendly. We even commented on how happy she looked - that was another employee I wished I had retrieved her name. The restaurant's décor was nice; however, it was a little loud in there which at times, made it difficult to have a normal conversation.
We ordered the Mother Trucker and Tenaya Creek Hefeweizen for our drinks; Italian Chop Salad for a "shared" appetizer; and Smoke Show and Quattro Carne pizzas for our main entrées. I've tried the Quattro Carne pizza before at their other location and there's a reason why we ordered it again...it's just that good. The Smoke Show was a new pizza to us and I wanted to ensure we try a different pizza at every visit...and boy, was that the right choice. Although that "Millionaire's Bacon" on the Smoke Show pizza did not make me a millionaire that evening or overnight for that matter, it sure was magnificent and added the perfect blend of flavor with the other ingredients. The Italian Chop Salad was crisp and did not contain a heavy dose of dressing which I appreciated because I'm not one of those "salad with my dressing" type of people.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable. Is it more expensive than other pizza restaurants in this city? Maybe? However, I am a firm believer that you pay for quality and this restaurant definitely provides top-quality food and service. I appreciate this business for their support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that. Overall, I love this restaurant as depicted in my 5-star rating. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house because it's remarkable, then again, I'm glad this restaurant is far away from my house (I live in the far Northwest part of the city) from a health standpoint. I highly recommend this restaurant...
