Wish they would open at the posted time. Often times you have to wait sometimes up to 15 minutes. I've watched people walk away several times waiting for the business to open during the week because their lunch break is almost over. When they do open late they don't acknowledge you they just unlock the door and walk away and oftentimes the food is not even ready so you have to wait once you get inside.
The Sunday crew is different from the weekday crew and while the manager tries to keep it together wearing multiple hats, the show just falls apart. -Employees with headphones on totally tuned out -not enough staff -employees that rotate the food will put the new food on top of the old food instead of putting the new food on the line and putting the remainder of the old food on top of the new food so it gets used first -The last time I went into this location I wanted to try the new shrimp tacos with the new salsa I received three pieces of shrimp on a tortilla as they were out of the salsa among other things. I wasn't informed they were out of salsa until the order was completely prepared. This was after already waiting 43 minutes in line to get food and I would probably estimate about 15 of those minutes was my food sitting on the line waiting for somebody to put the sides in the container (rice beans lettuce ECT). -The last time I was there and waited 43 minutes in line that were approximately six people in front of me and they only had two receipts on there to go clip that I saw but the holdup was a little surreal. (again the manager was clearly overwhelmed and doing his best to keep it all together) -The person who was in charge of the meat station and making that portion of the customer's food but was about 15 minutes ahead of the person who was in charge of doing the salad and sides side of the station so meats were just sitting there in containers getting cold waiting for the other person. Common sense might say don't take hot meat off the line into a container if it can't be prepped all the way by the other person working the other half of the line in a reasonable amount of time to avoid it getting cold. -a few times that I have gone there when they have opened late during the week they have been so rushed that once they were cooking tortillas too fast and as a result they were tearing when they were trying to build a burrito.
Overall this location has been more miss then hit the last few months and as a result, now go to another location. So far it's been a night and day difference between the locations from readiness, food prep, opening on time and what looks to be happy employees.
This location is very convenient to get to, but unfortunately for the time being, will not be returning. Hopefully this location will get better in time so a return trip can follow. Many chances of returning have been given because everyone deserves to have an off day in a business (especially food), but this has been far too many...
Read more🌮Update: The Owner posted that they take these claims seriously; Sent a couple emails then, 🦗🦗! No follow-up, apology etc. We will not cater, group gather or walk in this location again! 🛑 Cafe Rio St. Rose location in Henderson. 🤢 We do NOT recommend it! I could leave the pictures to speak for themselves but there are so many health violations, I am currently in the process of talking with The CC Health Department AND trying to reach Cafe Rio's corporate offices. So far I'm just getting passed around! We ordered two Taco salads one with grilled chicken & one with steak as our main dish. They were out of steak. As soon as we started to eat we discovered the chicken was raw! Chewey, get it out of my mouth raw! I discreetly told the cashier who called her manager over. He picked up the chicken, squeezed it, and said "Yeah, I don't like that!" He told the cashier to 'see what we wanted.' As I was walking back to the table I kicked the trash on the floor. I had not seen it sticking out under a chair As I looked around, It hit me; the NASTY condition of this establishment! It was genuinely sickening! My friend who placed the orders while I found a table & wiped it clean does not have great vision so she didn't see how tacky and unkept the food prep & service area were. I walked back and ask for a refund. They refunded ONE of our salads even tho I told them I was not going to eat mine either because seeing their unhealthy conditions made me afraid of their temperature and holding area! We even asked them if they had just had a huge rush or a big crowd to which the gal replied 'No, usual day.' As a note, we left a really good tip in their cup before we sat down. An almost $40.00 lunch, we could not eat with a $13+change refund will never bring us back. 🚩 I seriously caution against this location.
For those who see my reviews, you know I try to always find something good, an employee, parking, a smile . . . Something! This is just beyond Disgusting. I will follow up after my...
Read moreRead moreStarted going to Cafe Rio over 20 years ago when they were only in SLC. used to wait in line an hour even outside in snow. Was so happy when they followed us to Las Vegas. It used to be my familys favorite place. As each new location opened the standards would be great like in SLC. When it is busy the food is so much fresher and always being rotated through. The problem is that when it is slow the standards drop and the quality drops and I am sure the location starts losing money. We keep trying our luck and keep getting dissapointed. This location on St Rose was really great for the first year or so. When will you figure out that you should just throw away the meat when it is old. We ordered salad with grilled chicken and burrito enchilada style with grilled chicken tonight. Worked hard all day looked forward to some delicious cafe rio and not needing to cook. Instead the person making the food decided that the grilled chicken was okay to serve. It almost certainly was there from lunchtime untill 6pm. It was literally unchewable. There is no way this was not obvious to the person who made our food. Its like a death spiral... less customers makes things less fresh and crappy food. Crappy food means less customers. How do these managers not get fired. Serve good food and customers will come back. I have been to Cafe rio hundreds of times and to dozens of locations. This summer I was in SLC and visited a very busy location. The food was so good!! Why cant these vegas cafe rio managers wake up and see the problem. You are ruining my life. I want my $40 back. Before you reply and say how much you care and that I should follow up on caferio listens.com blah blah. The website is down and the link for it in the app is also down and I called the number and listened to hold music for 20 minutes. So save that nonsense for...
