Update*
Melia Toailoa left a comment on my previous post saying to email her with more information and that she passed the information along to the general manager. UNFORTUNATELY, I have sent multiple follow-up emails and no response. EOS IS STILL CHARGING ME FOR MEMBERSHIP AND CALLING ME EVERY DAY. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO EOS.
Absolutely Horrible Experience – Dishonest, Manipulative, and Unethical
I dealt with fitness manager Antonio.
I joined EOS on April 4th because I was specifically told they had no contracts and operated on a month-to-month basis—that was the only reason I signed up. I was looking for a simple gym with a pool, and although EOS lacked some features I wanted (like a steam sauna), I figured a no-strings-attached membership would be fine for the time being.
Before leaving, the fitness manager asked if he could show me something “real quick.” I told him I had only 5 minutes before I had to leave for my child’s school, and he said no problem, he’d make it quick. He rushed through a personal training pitch, saying things like “whew, I never go this fast” just to get me through it. At the end, I said I wasn’t interested. He responded with: “How about a two-week trial for only $20? Then you can see if you like it.” That’s it. No mention of recurring fees, no mention of long-term commitment, just a “trial.”
So I agreed to the $20 trial. He said, “sign here, here, and here,” in a rushed, pressured manner. I left believing I had paid $20 for two weeks to try it out. That’s it.
Fast forward to May 7th (my birthday), when I finally checked my account after dealing with a family death and traveling for the funeral, and I found three separate $88 charges from EOS totaling $264, which later rose to $417. I had never used a single training session or service. I went to the gym immediately.
Everyone at the front desk was confused—until that same fitness manager came over and smugly told me, “Oh that’s for your personal training.” I explained that I had never agreed to anything more than a $20 trial. Antonio said yes I did, with a smug little smile on his face, as if he was proud of deceiving me he had the nerve to say, “I told you that,” followed by, “Even if I didn’t, the contract was emailed to you and you had 3 days to cancel.”
What?!
How is it a “two-week trial” if you only have three days to cancel before you're charged?
That’s not a trial. That’s a scam.
You said it was $20 to try it out. You never said that it would auto-enroll into $88 biweekly personal training.
I hadn’t opened the email because of my family emergency and assumed it was about my gym membership. When I explained that, he just shrugged and told me to scan a code to cancel. I did that—and EOS denied my cancellation request, saying I had to complete eight sessions first before they'd cancel.
Excuse me? I haven’t used a single session. I never agreed to this. I never wanted it. And I definitely don’t have nearly $90 every other week to waste on a service I never used and never agreed to.
I then blocked their account from my bank, and they went and charged a different account without my permission.
I called corporate, who admitted this was shady and said, “That’s weird—they should have canceled it. The general manager at the gym can do that. I don’t know why they’re giving you the runaround.”
So here I am, $417 poorer, completely disrespected, lied to, and ignored. I came to EOS excited to get back into a healthy routine, and instead I’ve been taken advantage of, manipulated, and financially drained. This experience has completely destroyed my motivation, and it has made me distrust the entire fitness industry again.
All I want is my $417 refunded, my personal training and membership canceled, and to never have to deal with EOS again. This has been one of the most frustrating and deceptive customer service experiences I have ever had.
The only reason I am giving 1 star is because there is not an option to leave 0.
I will be going to the BBB if this is not...
Read moreUPDATED APRIL 2024 I finally cancelled my membership here, it's just too busy all the time and crime is a real problem at this location (St Rose). My friends ebike was stolen from the bike rack in the middle of the day. They cut the lock and took off with it. And someone had the nerve to steal a catalytic converter in the middle of the day from a car in the parking lot not long ago as well. Those are some of the issues that led to my leaving this place. Also, there have been many times where there have been used bloody bandages on the floor in the locker room and showers. And they don't seem to keep up with filling the soap dispensers. I asked a staff member about that once and he told me that the people that do that speak Spanish and they have no way to communicate with them. LOL I couldn't believe it, but that's what was said. If you're young and don't care about the crowds or crime, you'll love it here. It's just not for me.
UPDATED in December 2023...The response from the company is untrue. The hyperbolic machines are now all broken. They do not run through the cycles as they should, there is an air leak in them and it stops the machines from properly functioning.
About half the time I have been to the gym, there is no soap in any of the men's showers and bathroom sinks. I was told by a staff member "they have Spanish speaking people who come in 3 times a day to take care of that and the staff cannot ask them to do things or talk with them because nobody at the gym speaks Spanish." Yes, a staff member actually said that. So when you ask for soap, rather than just taking care of it, they blame the cleaning people who do not speak English. And yes, the hyperbolic machines are still ALL broken. All 6 of them do not work as they should. Another employee verified that EoS has just 1 maintenance person for ALL of the locations, so when things don't get fixed - that's just how it goes. The past few times I went there, the men's locker room and outside pool floors are disgustingly dirty, just gross. I like working out there, but the staff could do much more to maintain the quality and working order of the equipment and environment. If this place wasn't so close to my home, I would go somewhere else. The convenience is what appeals to me most at this point.
ORIGINAL REVIEW IN OCTOBER 2023 Broken equipment for over a month now - all 6 hyperbolic machines, none of the massage chairs work, step machines are broken. I have asked about the hyperbolic machines for weeks now and get nothing but excuses like it's my problem they are broken. I emailed the owner directly and got nothing. It's such a nice place and the people are great, but I pay for what is there to be working - not broken all the time. Yesterday, there was trash and a used band aid out by the hot tub in the pool area. I am going to look for another gym which takes care of it's equipment. This one doesn't seem to care at all. This place...

Ethan's dedication, knowledge, and passion for fitness were evident from day one. He didn’t just put me through workouts—he taught me how to move properly, prioritize recovery, and fuel my body the right way through EōS's partnership with Betr Health. His approach wasn't about quick fixes but long-term sustainability, and because of that, I not only hit my original fitness goals but exceeded them.
Over the past three years, Ethan continually adapted my program, pushing me when I needed it and modifying things when life threw challenges my way. His ability to keep me motivated, hold me accountable, and make every session enjoyable made all the difference. He genuinely cares about his clients' success, and it’s clear this isn’t just a job to him—it’s a passion.
Thanks to Ethan, I’m in the best shape of my life, stronger than I ever imagined, and most importantly, I’ve developed lifelong habits that will keep me healthy for years to come. If you're looking for a trainer who listens, challenges you, and truly wants to see you succeed, Ethan is the one.
EōS made a great decision keeping trainers like Ethan on board, and I’m grateful for the past three years of training with him. Highly recommend!
I was one of the first sign ups at the St.Rose EoS location - I was already looking for a closer fitness gym to my home. Not only do they employ more staff and a have a more locations, but they also have a very easy check-in procedure with similar classes and equipment to my prior fitness center.
I decided to try their personal training which included a dietitian and meal planning with their company’s partnership with Betr Health for no additional charge.
When I had my initial sit down with the training manager she listened to my needs and wants to pair me with the right trainer - not just who’s working that day; you work with the same trainer every session.
My trainer Ethan is incredibly knowledgeable in his profession, and it shows in his positive attitude as this is a passion and a career. He takes time, listens, relates, and would rather see you take your time, concentrate on form so that you benefit every session so you can apply his knowledge during your daily life, recovery time, and your diet.
Coming from working in the fitness world, I can comfortably identify people with ability, ambition, and integrity. The fact Ethan has the amount of knowledge and years of experience at EOS and still enjoys it speaks leagues to how the company treats and compensate their employees. I am very satisfied wit my decision to switch to EOS along with trainer who is flexible with his schedule and what’s me to succeed...
