Wow, did we really just experience the worst possible service and experience with food? My husband and I have a plethora of experience being in our 60's, growing up in New York, working in Manhattan, traveling to different countries, being of Italian heritage and an avid cook, we know good service and when food is prepared correctly. First, the polite waitress, seemed to be on drugs or had been drinking because she was rambling, and not aware of time. whatsoever. Secondly, we arrived at 6:30 and didn't get to leave until 9 pm. Not by choice. We ordered the much anticipated "stuffed" artichoke and Burrata and tomatoes and a bottle of wine. The wine came immediately and was very good. .. ONE HOUR later, our perfect looking "NOT" stuffed artichoke with what looked like grated cheese sprinkled and melted on top arrived. We immediately new something was not right when we had to play tug of war with the leaves that should pull out easily when cooked correctly. Sometimes you get a bad batch of artichokes... this was one of them. Then trying to scrap our teeth across the leaves numerous times without little to no artichoke coming off, we sent it back because it wasn't fully cooked or the batch was one of those bad artichokes. In the meantime we ate the Burrata and tomatoes and at this point we were starving... The burrata was very good, the tomatoes had the taste and texture of being in the refrigerator. Tomatoes are not supposed to be in the fridge it ruins the texture. Why did it take an hour to cut up a tomato and put it on a plate with buratta and basil? Then why did it come out 2 minutes of after week? What's the attention that we've been waiting so long environment? It's a things to get me to put the order in... Now having a headache from drinking on an empty stomach, waiting so long, no one even came over to explain all the delays or offer us bread, which there is a small charge for knowing that we were waiting to eat for such a long period of time. The waitress, although nice, chatting with us, didn't have a clue of how long we were waiting nor express any concern. We asked if we could have the fried calamari instead of the artichoke since it was under cooked. After waiting about fifteen more minutes, we were presented with another fun stuffed undercooked, hard artichoke! Wth... at this point I wanted to leave, but my cousin said, by the time he went someplace else, we'll be waiting just as long to eat. Finely around 8 pm we received the calamari, which was very good, yet not sure if it was because we were starving to death or because it really was... the texture was good. It wasn't chewy, the marinara sauce was a little spicy and very goo. We sat and waited 20 more minutes and the waitress finally came over and asked, are you ready for the main course, I'll put it in????? To be continued in another...

CPRK Service - A casual restaurant with no decor to make you think you're in an Italian restaurant. The dining area is clean and there's plenty of seating. It was a busy weekday evening and I stopped by for a quick solo dinner and to catch up on work email. I was seated and waited 10 minutes before someone returned to take my order. It took 25 minutes before my lasagna got to the table. I had to wave servers down to get my water refreshed. It took 10 minutes to get someone to close out my check. After 15 minutes of waiting, I had to waive down a server to check on my card. They apologized for taking so long to close out my card. The older couple to seated to my right received much better service than me. They knew the gentleman as they referred to him as "Doctor." They received their food before me and were able to close out their bill before me. The servers enjoyed socializing with known customers seated throughout their restaurant.
CPRK Cuisine: The Lasagna Bolognese was pretty tasty and generous in size. Think Maggiano's quality with a higher price tag. They used quality ingredients but at $22.00 it's pretty pricey for what you receive. $10.50 for a house Cab and you'd think you're on the Las Vegas Strip.
I hope the service improves especially for potentially new customers. I think with a little more organization and equally better service to unknown customers could really get this resto to another...

Pros: Service was outstanding. Friendly, timely, attentive, knowledgeable, professional. The quality of the ingredients and produce were extremely fresh. Lively acids in the tomatoes; crisp, vibrant greens. Even with the bread, the quality was superb. Nice thick, flaky crust with points for a healthy crumb and cell structure. Generous portions, very reasonable prices. A well-constructed wine list. Some fantastic selections and a bit of a surprise.
Cons: The fare was great but would have been elevated with additional seasonings. Basic component additions to the marinara that might have been welcome: fennel, garlic, basil (the basil quality in-house is already tremendous, definitely make use of it more!), a generous grind of salt and/or black pepper, maybe crushed red pepper. The atmosphere was very plain. This doesn't particularly matter to me, but may detract from the date-night diners' interest.
Overall: I got the impression that this is an establishment that truly cares about the quality of their food and dining experience, which is an increasingly rare philosophy. I will happily return to support them and will encourage others to do so as well. A pass over the menu with an eye towards opportunities for improvement would be welcome, but is far...
