This restaraunt is a great concept in theory, asian fusion mexican and sushi which is a match made in heaven really. I did take out and got to walk in to a big gorgeous space with a beautiful bar. And when I brought my to-go order home to share it, the food was beautiful visually. I received great and quite timely customer service for ordering online. But sadly flavor wise was very disappointing for what you're paying for it. 40 dollars for 3 dishes, and 2 out of the 3 dishes were not good in my opinion. The Korean bulgogi tacos, which I've tried at other places, were all bland other than the kimchi. The kimchi tasted like regular store-bought salty kimchi, not something homemade or even special. One of the tacos had a large piece of fatty meat that was unchewable. Pretty gross. There was a sad little mild red salsa to go with it, and nothing of note there. The Chino taquitos were just downright salty, an awful salt flavor. Just no flavor other than salty permeating the entire dish. I didn't like the wierd dip flavor that went with the taquitos, which I'm assuming was the chipotle ranch??? I couldn't taste any ginger in the slaw on the side, absolutely no poblano flavor in the crema, and no Chipotle flavor detected whatsoever...just salty.
I did try the lasagna sushi dish which was not my dish or the sharable dish I got, thankfully, and that was a surprisingly large and tasty and very nice.
If I were to give this place a second chance I would absolutely not do any of the mexican fusion again. The plating for the dishes even in to go form is very pretty, and the food very attractive overall, but the flavor very sad in this department. The sushi was very good though. I think this place has potential, and maybe I came at a bad day or a bad time. But 14 dollar korean fusion street tacos should at the very least be a bomb of lovely gojuchang flavor, not salty bland.
Edit: To be fair to this place I do think that it's better to dine in here based on what I am seeing in other reviews. Looks like the experience of drinks and sushi and tacos is more of a fun social thing.
I just happened to have a hankering to try tacos to go somewhere nearby and wanted to try the food. So take what I say with a grain of salt...no...

If you're looking for a laid-back spot with solid happy hour deals and a variety of small plates to graze on, Chinitas might just be worth checking out—especially on a Monday, when happy hour runs all day.
The menu is compact but well-curated, offering a mix of Japanese- and Latin-inspired bites. I started with the Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll ($8), and it was a pleasant surprise—eight pieces of well-made sushi for the price felt like a steal. The texture and flavor were on point, making it a satisfying appetizer.
Unfortunately, the Salmon Sashimi didn’t hold up to the same standard. It lacked flavor and freshness, and felt like a misstep for a dish that should highlight quality fish. I wouldn’t order it again.
On the brighter side, the Chicken Gyoza were quite good. Served with a sweet and sour sauce that complemented them well, they made for a tasty and light starter. Definitely more of a nibble than a meal, though.
The Smash Burger was a bit of an elevated fast-food experience: cheesy, tender meat, and flavorful overall. However, the bun didn’t quite match the quality of the patty—it was serviceable but unimpressive. Still, it's a solid choice if you're craving something a little heartier.
One of the better-value dishes was the Quesabirria Tacos. For the price, you get three decently sized tacos with a flavorful consommé that was rich and savory. I’d order them again without hesitation.
For dessert, I tried both the Oreo Mochi and Strawberry Mochi. The Oreo variety was the winner—sweet, satisfying, and familiar. The strawberry one tasted oddly like a non-sweet strawberry yogurt, which might work for some, but wasn’t to my taste.
Service was a standout: the server was friendly, quick, and efficient, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
Final Thoughts: Chinitas is a good pick for a quick snack or a casual outing, especially if you're taking advantage of their weekday deals. While not every dish hits the mark, there are enough wins on the menu to make it worth a return...
Read moreI’m honestly a little shocked by super poor reviews. I’ve been 4 times already and each time the food and drinks have been consistently great. I agree, this is more of a date night/ladies night type spot vs taking a family. We usually order one dish each and sample, which is the whole concept of tapas. I love the drinks, typically pretty strong and you won’t need more than 1 or 2 to feel like you actually get what you paid for.
The service has been hit or miss, when going with my toddler, the front entrance girls did seem annoyed that I requested to change tables when we were placed in the direct sun during an afternoon visit. However, the servers actually taking our food and drink orders have always been very prompt and would check on us throughout our meal.
Definitely a spot to try that is off strip and local!
update Hello.
I just wanted to write a message saying how dissatisfied and disappointed we are in your establishment.
We just left after being seated and waiting for 15 minutes with absolutely no service at all. No one even stopped to ask if we needed waters, if we had been helped, etc.
The hostess (or waitress?) that actually sat us asked “were we seated from the hostess stand.” After I replied - yes…you were the one that actually sat us….she offered no apology at all to us.
Mind you, we also had a 2.5 yr old and an 8 month old with us.
This is unacceptable and we are so disappointed that this happened after bringing your establishment business plenty of times before!
We aren’t looking for any compensation - just want management to be aware that this occurred - that no one greeted us as we sat, offered apologies, and made it seem like we were in the wrong by asking if we were even sat from the hostess stand.
Needless to say - I’m changing my previous review and we will be exploring other local restaurants before bringing...
