The hostess was not rude but was not personable at all. She kind of made it seem like she didn't want to be there. The server Staci was cool, she was patient and had an edgy, don't piss her off type of kindness to her. My son got a refill on his water, but when mine came up empty, I did not. The table was very wobbly, which made it uncomfortable to sit at. I did try and fix it with napkins, but that didn't work. Staci did offer to help flip the table over so we can tighten some screws. That was sweet, but it would have been awkward to do that so I declined the offer. The food was such a disappointment. The biscuits should come in 2 different sizes. One for the breakfast sandwich and one for your side. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast biscuit and the biscuit was way too small for the size of the egg. The sandwich did have pretty decent flavor because the biscuit (though small) is tasty. I also ordered breakfast potatoes and a side of fruit. The potatoes were dry and hard, they tasted like they had been cooked a few times and didn't really have seasoning. The fruit was not in season so it was pretty bland and a pretty tiny amount. My son's friend wanted the chicken and waffles (which is on the menu) but they didn't have a waffle maker so he had to get chicken and french toast. The order came with a fair amount of French toast but 1 little tiny piece of fried chicken. My son tried to order their breakfast burrito (another item that was listed on the menu) but was told they didn't have them. Staci recommended the grilled cheese and brisket sandwich which my son said was good. We also ordered a side of biscuits (3) and it comes with jam and butter or honey. The biscuits did have a good flavor, they were just a bit dry and crumbled really easy so it was hard to get the butter on them without them falling apart. But the price was high to me. $8.00 for 3 sorta small biscuits that weren't even warm. But the jam was good. The bourbon butter didn't really stand out flavor wise. The benches at the tables were not comfortable, the table was not comfortable because of the wobble but the place itself was cool. All in all, the food was edible, the atmosphere was cool, the server Staci was great, the hostess was eh. I would not choose to go here again, but definitely glad...
Read moreWhile deciding what our errands for today would be, we both agreed it was time to go back to Biscuits and Bourbon (B&B). We had visited earlier in the year after moving to Henderson.
Our visit being in July, there was a warm breeze blowing down Water Street but remember - it's a dry heat! LOL!
As we approached B&B, we noticed the towel on the door handle and it took a minute to figure it out. See the pic. With the temps going over 100 degrees, that door handle will be pretty hot in no time. A nice touch for a restaurant..
As you enter, you'll notice B&B is setup with social seating to the right along with a patio area and a bar area straight ahead. The social seating has regular tables and high tops. There's TVs around this area. The bar has TVs above an excellent selection of bourbons. While we have not been here for drinks yet, the bar looks great and the area bright from multiple windows looking out the back. This is a small place with great energy and a friendly Staff.
We were seated quickly and there were others in the restaurant. Jayanna (Jay) came right over and was great to talk to. She gave us a few recommendations and went to get our drinks. The coffee is excellent and the flavored creams appreciated. We went over a few items with Jay and liked her input.
I ordered the Smoked Pork Belly & Fried Green Tomato Benny and the Mrs. had the Smoked Tri Tip Bennie. Both were amazing! Both came with breakfast potatoes and they were very good. The best part was all the food was piping hot! Jay refilled our drinks and we were happy. After finishing our breakfast, we just had to have a biscuit for "dessert". We talked to Jay and she recommended the 3 biscuit deal. It came with the choice of 2 custom butters and it didn't take long to convince us. Again, the biscuits were very hot and the blueberry butter and bourbon butter Jay suggested were a hit. The 3rd biscuit came home to be toasted for Saturday breakfast - see the pic.
B&B has a wide selection of dishes and the pork belly & brisket on our benny's were excellent. We plan on going back to B&B for dinner very soon.
Many THANKS to Jay and the B&B Team for another great breakfast & pleasant experience.
Cheers,

Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. Biscuits are ok, but that’s about it.
I also ordered the brisket and it was absolutely terrible. Most embarrassingly dry piece of meat that I’ve ever tried. I’m not sure if this was a fluke but it was very disappointing. It was definitely NOT worth what they are charging for it. If it weren’t for the moisture from the bbq sauce (which they forgot to provide) I wouldn’t have been able to eat any of it.
Sides were also very underwhelming. Mac & cheese had a strange mildew smell from the cheese that was questionable and the kale cole slaw was absolutely terrible as well. I ended up taking only took two bites of each.
Service wise, the hostess took quite a while to seat us even though the restaurant was pretty empty. She looked like she hated being there. No smile :(
She also forgot to give us menus and dining utensils to start so I had to hunt those down myself.
The server/waitress, however, was nice and basically made the terrible experience palpable.
I stopped by this establishment during a bike ride w a buddy and didn’t want to make a scene or fuss by complaining about the food/service. After 40+ miles of riding I was rather hungry too, so I ended up eating all three pieces of the super dry brisket like a good lad, paid the check without a word, & properly tipped the waitress before leaving. I should have spoken to management on-site but I was in a rush to get home before sunset.
Just wanted to write this review to warn people about the brisket.
Biscuits 4/5. Brisket 0/5.
Biscuits and Bourbon - PLEASE QUALITY CHECK your bbq before serving! It’s your top listed bbq item and it was incredibly disappointing. It was bad enough for me to invest time on a Sunday evening to write this with the hopes of saving others from wasting their...
