Don Tortaco Mexican Grill #27 — Restaurant in Henderson

UPDATE! So just months later, I can report that this location is closed. There is tape blocking entry and signs that say it is unsafe to enter premises. Whoever owns all of the Don Tortaco in Vegas are doing something wrong. Apparently this location has had a few fires and really bad food handler reports. And they never did open it 24/7, like the sign says. Again, just go to Tacos Pauly Siiii right next to it. Much better Mexican food!

I really, sincerely hope this Don Tortaco does better than every other franchise in the Vegas valley. 3 stars isn't promising. Please do better with this one! It's so close to my house that it would be such a waste to be just as bad. I'm assuming morale should be pretty high considering there is a new Pauly Siiii 50 feet from it. Trust me, that place is superior! I won't mind getting out of my car for far better Mexican...

It deserves 4-5 stars but I decided to go with 5 because whatever inspired the poor early reviews has been corrected!! I had the carne asada burrito and the shrimp cocktail The burrito was really good, a lot of meat and no fillers, no beans or rice or cheese!! The Shrimp Cocktail was friggin great!! Obviously made to order the ingredients were fresh with a healthy amount of shrimp and avocado!! I would prefer it a little more spicy and will ask for that next time I get it!! The staff were friendly and patient, the place is spacious and clean.I can hardly wait til the weekend to try their menudo, if it's as good as the rest of their food this will be my go to place for...

When this place opened their carne asada was pretty good but burritos were very small, but had very minimal fat. They also had $0.99 street tacos. They recently raised their price for the street tacos, but the worst thing is their carne asada is literally un edible. Even single bite, I am spitting out hard pieces of bone or something and tons of fat. They have become just like the Roberto's in Henderson except for Roberto's has decent size burritos. This place has gone downhill in a very short amount of time. I will literally never order anything with carne asada in it from here because I spit out most of every single bite I take....
