Came here on Saturday July 9th with my boyfriend only to be greeted by incredibly rude bar tenders who totally brought down the vibe. First, the female bartender with a pony tail made a big deal out of the fact that we didn’t know what we wanted right away. Then, when we finally did order, 15 minutes later, she came back with the weakest Jack and ginger I have ever had in my life. I asked her if she put alcohol in it and she said, “yeah that’s what makes it brown.” She asked me if I wanted to “open a tab or pay as you go?” Pretty normal. I told her “cash” and held up a $20. She then walked away, saying nothing, served other customers and then came back and told me the price. All the while, I’m sitting there cash in hand. It was $12 for a ginger ale with a splash of Jack and a domestic draft beer. Then, a Spanish speaker came up next to us and tried to order a beer but the male bartender didn’t understand Spanish for beer (una cerveza por favor) and we even translated for him when the bartender didn’t understand. Instead, the bartender told the man he was too drunk and that he wouldn’t serve him.
This was absolutely a racist choice as the man was clearly not intoxicated. Also, this bar absolutely over serves its weak, expensive drinks. This became apparent when at about 11:45pm a fight broke out between two (white male) patrons who had obviously been over served and couldn’t even hit each other in the face because they were so intoxicated.
This bar, the Gold Mine Tavern is obviously not the spot to be at on a Saturday night. The bartenders are rude, racist, and make bad drinks. It’s a wonder anyone was...
Read moreWe love the Gold Mine!
We typically frequent “dive bars” because they are usually easy going, no dressing up is required and the crowd is mostly locals. Gold Mine is all these things PLUS!
The Staff is friendly and the selections are huge. So many drafts, regular liquors & bottled beers and high end bourbons (our favorite) are available. The bourbon selections are surprising for a dive bar.
While they do not offer food onsite, on the weekends and special occasions, food trucks will be onsite. Many are excellent and the corndog truck is our favorite.
Gold Mine offers live music in the weekends and pickup artists during the week.
We cannot praise the Staff enough. They kick bu++ and keep the bar hopping. They also keep an eye on the clients to make sure fun rules - no excess “foolishness” is accepted.
If you love a bar where you can make instant friends or have a quiet drink, Gold Mine is the place. They also have a pool table and video wagering.
After 6 months here, we have a new “home” dive bar and they treat us great. We would recommend Gold Mine whether you’re a...
Read moreGold Mine is one of the most unethical and underhanded bars in Henderson. Bartenders have overcharged and under-compensated on a regular basis, even after following their comp policy. On one occasion, a bartender asked to hold a credit card while gambling then charged $10 without my authorization. They never even told me what the amount was for, when it definitely should have been comped and just blamed “management guidelines.”
Most recently, the bartender Stacy charged $6 for one beer that should have been $2 during Happy hour and explained if they were slower she could have comped more. I only ordered 2 rounds, so what sense does that make after gambling over $80!
I have never dealt with such unbelievable and ridiculous situations in my 17+ years gambling in Vegas. They will take every dollar they can and also don’t acknowledge happy hour rates when gambling, apparently.
Gold Mine is a poorly run business and I would never recommend giving this dirty dive bar a dime...
