While out running errands last week, we decided to try out Pacific Diner in downtown Henderson, NV.
We had seen it, but not stopped in; I had read reviews that the food was good, so it was time to give it a try.
When we entered the hostess was very pleasant and personable. She sat us in a window booth and sent over the waitress.
Our waitress was a young girl that was so nice. She answered all the questions about the different meals and took our order with a big smile.
When my breakfast was brought over I was impressed. The hashbrowns were cooked crispy but not overdone, the scrambled eggs were cooked just enough (slimy water eggs make me gag).
Now let me say, I love chicken fried steak, I am a VERY picky eater, and so getting it right to please me is not easy.
The meat itself had the crispy batter, yet the meat was moist and tender. Of course it was smothered in gravy and we all know the gravy can make or break the entire meal.
The milk gravy had actual pieces of real sausage…BONUS! It had a nice texture and was smooth (not like some you get that has clumps of flour/mix.)
Now here is the only thing I was not thrilled with was the sage in the gravy. I am not a fan of sage, so it was very noticeable to me and so I am not sure I would get their gravy next time. Keep in mind that you may love it because it does add flavor, it just seemed to be the only thing I could taste.
Overall would I go back? Absolutely! The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and attentive! The atmosphere is open, well-lit and comfortable. The entire place is extremely clean! Go on down and give them a try, I think you will be...
Read moreI brought my daughter and friend here a few days ago. Wanted them to experience a local diner spot. I have been here several times -- the last time was about 8 months ago & I had left a 1 star review -- under joellem2112 -- due to issues with my food. Today I want to make a 5-⭐star review for MARY, our wonderful waitress. She was a pleasure to speak with, funny and you felt you knew her your whole life. For only working at Pacific Diner 3 days, she knew the menu well. I couldnt believe it was only her 3rd day. She definitely could run the place with her eyes closed. Now the FOOD. I would give the food 2 stars ⭐ - The coffee was great. I ordered Build Your Own Burrito. I have to admit it was more like a "wrap" but it was good! Their NEW Cinnamon Rolls I enjoyed. My daughter (like every kid) would've liked more icing on top. It had some already on it but had melted. It was still sweet and delishhhh! I keep coming back because of the MENU. There's a good variety of food choices HOWEVER, for ME, that's where it stops. It's just 'good wording'. My problem would be the QUALITY of food (sausage patties, hash browns, those diced potatoes, fries & brown sugar). Each time I've been in, there have only been 2 to 3 tables with people at them. Pacific Diner is relocating to Water St near the LIFEGUARD ARENA soon. Will they change their name to WATER STREET DINER? That would be interesting - Maybe a REFRESHED menu with NEW items? I will be coming back once the NEW spot on Water St, Henderson opens up to give another try and possible...
Read moreFirst, I truly believe in supporting a GOOD local restaurant. This is not one of them. We went to this diner about 2 pm on a Sunday figuring it would be a quiet lunch. We ordered and waited about 20 minutes for our club sandwich and fries. When we ordered, I informed the waitress that I was ALLERGIC to mayo and requested it be on the side. My partner and I were sharing the meal and he can eat mayo. Like I said, 20 minutes later and the waitress comes out with the food stating " The chef put mayo on the sandwich I hope that's okay." No as I stated an allergy to mayo so NOT OKAY. Her response was the chef would need to make a new one. DUH, you think. At that point, we decided to leave and inform the server to never mind trying to correct the mistake. Not worth the attitude we received when they messed up the order.
Would not recommend this restaurant for...
