We were so excited to try this place… however the front of the house service was awful! It was clear that the servers and waitresses were more worried about closing or getting prepared for it then paying attention to their tables. I ordered a Pear Sangria it was Like drinking rubbing alcohol and the fruit was dissolved and looked like it was backwash floating in the cup. I sent it back and ordered a Pineapple Ranch Water it was even worse if that was even possible! It was watered down and tasted again like rubbing alcohol!
At that point I gave up. The server kept walking back and forth and would barely check on us or if we needed refills. It took over 15 min to get a refill for a beer.
Then our pizza comes and we asked for plates and this server which wasn’t ours because ours vanished brought us dessert plates to eat our pizza. We ask this tall blonde gentlemen who could be a busser or manager and say “are we drinking coffee” and he gets an absolute attitude and says “oh are you sure you don’t want coffee” he was rude and arrogant! He brings us plates then calms down.
Had to ask another busser for a refill on a soda it took her over 10 minutes to return.
The pizza was great we really liked it but this place clearly has management and front house issues. They had so many staff working but everyone was doing things that really should be done at close… like mopping and cleaning. If you work in service you do those things at close. Not while still serving and open! I mean it was literally 7pm when we ate!
It’s such a disservice and disappointment that this place just flat out sucked! As we are up at the arena twice a week and thought occasionally this place would be great for a quick bite or cocktail!
We may try again but if and when I we do I hope management gets it together and clearly re-trains...
Read moreMy wife and I went here for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. It was slow with only a few tables. The burgers were good but the service was bad. Once the food and drinks were served the server was nowhere to be found. At one point, to get refills on beverages, I got up to try to find her but could not. Eventually, she came back to see about giving us a check. We chose not to complain, paid the check and left.
Because the burgers were so good, we stopped here a second time on a Saturday afternoon. It was a little busy; tables were about half full. This time we sat at a table waiting for service for more than 20 minutes with no one coming over to us. Servers walked by ignoring us. At one point, it looked to me like one server was intentionally avoiding eye contact with us. It was weird. My wife and I were dumbfounded. (We left a 20% tip the last time even though the service was terrible so we figured that was not the problem.) I even went back to the entrance to confirm that sign said “seat yourself.” We chose not to get up and chase a server down so we just left. We went across the street to Sticks Tavern where the burgers were great and the service was fantastic. It was was the complete opposite of our experience at MacKenzie River.
We will never go back to MacKenzie...
Read moreI was visiting your establishment yesterday and was appalled at was I saw take place. It was a very busy morning and what started as a wonderful experience. I watched quickly go down hill. The bar was BUSY and the sweetest girl Camille was doing her. She was attentive quickly gathering orders the best she could however when things became hectic I watched this poor young lady ask her management for help. And they rudely denied her and completely disregarded not only her needs but the need of the guests. In my eyes this is absolutely unacceptable for a management team when it comes to supporting their staff. She stayed a float as long as she could but when denied help again. She left. And I don't blame her one bit. The hostility presented by the manager towards her was the most unprofessional demeanor. There was no way she could of done it alone and her team let her down. How can a restaurant expect for a young woman to handle volume of that size but then Denied Help. Ridiculous the person or shift manager on duty should absolutely be held accountable for the failure of your bar Sunday Morning. I hope in the future you can use this review to further train your staff to work together and make sure they are provided with the thing they...
