Love that there’s a Zippy’s location in Henderson now. Born and raised in Oahu so my family and I grew up eating at Zippy’s and possibly went to all the locations in Oahu.
First time to the Henderson location on a Saturday Brunch time. There was a 25 - 45 minute wait. We didn’t mind. However, bar seats opened up quicker so we took that instead. Good location lots of parking. Spacious, bright and clean inside with a Take Out Section and Dining Room as well. Lovely staff and good conversations sitting at the Bar.
Our food was absolutely scrumptious! Temperature and portions were good! My favorite always has been Zippy’s Fried Chicken, Chili no beans, Spaghetti with Garlic bread and Grilled Corn Bread. My family’s favorite is also Zippy’s Fried Chicken. There’s a pretty good selection of food items on the menu. Plate lunch style comes with 2 scoops rice with Macaroni Salad. Also can order all rice no Macaroni Salad or Green Salad. Then choose your choice of food items. There’s Zippy’s Signature Plates, Hawaii style soups with noodles, Breakfast, Daily Plates, Chili, Ohana Meals, Burgers/Sandwiches, Keiki Meals, Platters, etc. Don’t forget to order a dessert. The Fruit Punch, Orange Bang and Lilikoi Drinks are on tap and always available for refills and sooo good! Some say prices are too high and the portions aren’t worth it. But all the times we have been to Zippy’s in Vegas has all been good and no complaints. I wish all the best for the Vegas Zippy’s Restaurants and to all the Staff as well. Stop in to try what the Hawaii Locals grew up with. “Pinky and...
Read moreI like the way they do takeout orders here. It is low stress. But the food is not so great. I got a Chicken Trio. The Korean Chicken was somewhere between cold to room temperature and the five chunks were much smaller than in the picture in the online menu. The Chicken Katsu was slightly warmer than the Korean Chicken, but still not very hot. The regular Fried Chicken was the warmest, probably because of the bone holding the heat in. The rice was also room temperature and hardened on the outside. The macaroni salad was cold, like it is supposed to be, and tasted good. I'm in no hurry to come back here. The other Hawaiian restaurants in the neighborhood are better than this. If you keep selling room temperature chicken and room temperature rice, you are going to have your customers suffering from a lot more than mild disappointment. They are going to get sick. The employees taking the orders and handing out the orders were nice and the restaurant looks nice. The worst part is the food. I'm not very optimistic about it getting better either. I bet if I try them again in a few months it will be the same. If they get better, I'll...
Read moreStopped by before going to Hula practice as I wanted ensemada. Conveniently located on Eastern Ave about a mile or so of the 215 exit.l on the left. There wasn't a line for take out so sweet!!!
I ordered at the counter and waited for my food. The workers were all nice and on automatic when someone walks in the door they all say "Aloha." So what's funny is the person who took my order actually asked me when I was standing waiting for my order if she could take my order. I kinda giggled and said you already took my order less than 5 minutes ago.
As I said I wanted ensemada which was amazing. Brought me back to my younger years. Nice fluffy and soft with that butter and sugar. I also ordered a saimin separate. I went to my car and wanted to eat it right away and errr the noodles were overcooked. Especially if its takeout, I would suggest not to have extremely soggy noodles. It only took me 1 minute to walk to my car and pour the soup. Still good. I enjoyed the char sui, hot mustard and kamaboko.
Definitely will return again but happy to see the 3rd...
