My husband and I booked a reservation for a date night. We saw that they had great reviews and food looked amazing. It seemed to be a fine dining with a casual atmosphere. So my husband and I dressed casually for our date night. Upon arrival it was empty maybe three other patrons were present. The waitress led us to our booth. The only thing I really liked about the decor was the tear drop lights that were hanging. My husband and I ordered our drinks, and placed our appetizer which was the trout dip. My husbands back was to the bar and I had the view of the bar. Fantasy football was being played at the bar and I couldn’t tell if it was a sports bar or a great dining experience. Overall I wasn’t pleased with the fantasy football. Drinks arrived and they were not good. Pure liquor, not mixed well, and appearance was not great. We did not touch our drinks after that one sip. There was only one server and she was serving all four patrons and by the time our appetizer came out two more groups walked it. Appetizer was okay but there definitely was no trout in our dip. It tasted like salmon which was a let down. Being from the shore I know fish and seafood and I know the difference between trout and salmon. The only thing I could think of was thank you I wasn’t allergic to salmon in that moment. The bread it came with was over cooked, hard, and burnt. I think there was potential to be great but it was such a let down. At this point we stopped eating the appetizer and decided we weren’t going to order a meal. We’ve been sitting there for almost an hour and still haven’t been seen about ordering our main course. We decided that we weren’t going to waste our date night being disappointed. My husband booked an 8:30pm at our favorite restaurant Posteros. We paid for our appetizer and the waitress comp’d the drinks. I felt bad for waitress and we did leave a good tip. I would say Deluxe has the potential to be better and survive with alittle work. I’m sure they have great food but drinks, appetizers and environment definitely sets the tone for future business. They need to decide what the tone is for thier restaurant whether this is a sports bar, fine dining, lounge etc! There was just too much going on at once. Maybe we’ll try again in the future! ...
Read moreDecided to take myself out on a date night by myself and try Deluxe Social House. Before you read any further I’ll tell you the entire experience was a 3/10 so if you go, please do so with caution. As soon as I walked in the door the blonde curly haired waitress seemed annoyed that I asked for a booth (even though it was the slim booths against the wall). It took my waitress 10 minutes to take my drink order and let me order my salad as an appetizer. Almost half an hour later my salad finally arrives. I will say the Caesar salad was on point, but that’s the only thing that was worth the price. 15 minutes later she comes back to get my entree. I can’t remember the exact name of the burger I got, but it was basically the deluxe burger with the applewood smoked bacon and the mayo aioli. For my sides I got the broccoli and Brussels. Over half an hour later I finally get my burger and sides. It didn’t have the mayo or bacon on it. The blonde curly haired waitress saw I was needing help and after telling her this isn’t what I ordered she said “yeah, the online menu is wrong so if that’s what you were going by then you’ll get a totally different entree than what you ordered”. She asked if I wanted bacon, but after how long it took to get a burger delivered to me I declined because I didn’t want my bland and plain burger to get cold while I waited. The broccoli was plain, the burger tasted like nothing and the Brussels were disgusting (I barely touched them). I finished my meal and waited 10 minutes for her to see that I was finished and bring me my check and take my plates. I tell her I didn’t like my Brussels, and hoped that after she saw that I barely touched them that she’d offer to take them off my check. Nope. They stayed on. She never apologized for the mixup with my burger or took any responsibility for it or the slow service. Overall this was a complete mistake coming here and I will not be back. I can’t give my money to a restaurant that refuses to take responsibility and makes excuses for mistakes that should never happen in the first place. Please do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else other than this place. You’ll...
Read moreI had known this restaurant as Black Rose located next to Mezzaluna. I visited the new Deluxe a few times during the early days of Hurricane Helene. Deluxe was open while many other restaurants were closed. They have excellent food and service and went above and beyond the call of duty to keep their doors and hospitality open while, as I mentioned, others closed down. Under these circumstances they were suddenly inundated with hungry hoards of people. While many patrons were supportive, courteous and thankful that they had a safe place to seek shelter from the storm, other people were just plain rude. My friend and I were so disheartened to see this behavior that we made more of an effort to be supportive and give good tips. I will continue to enjoy going downtown Main Street in Hendersonville to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at all these great restaurants and places to shop. These establishments and the people who run them and the people who work here are what makes Hendersonville, Hendersonville. Without their dedication to service and exemplary work ethic Main Street would have been dark like much of the rest of WNC and without the continued support and patronage of residents and visitors, Hendersonville, our beautiful city of four seasons, will dry up like many small towns leaving us with nothing but McDonalds on the off ramps. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! To the owners and staff of Deluxe, Mezzaluna and other namesakes like Hannah’s and Shine. Thank you for being here and making Hendersonville your...
