Kiki's Kitchen — Restaurant in Hendersonville

I knew the place that was going to be replacing Sax Deli would have some big shoes to fill, and while I don't think anything will ever truly replace them, Kiki's Kitchen is off to a fantastic start! My wife I tried the Kiki Roll for an appetizer, and they came out hot and fresh, and was probably one of the best egg rolls I've ever had. I ordered the Chili Cheese Burger with fries and my wife got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with fries. I tried a couple bites of the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it had great flavor and a decent amount of heat, probably somewhere between a mild and medium as far as the heat goes. The Chili Cheese Burger was honestly the best one I have ever had. The burger was cooked perfectly and the chili was just excellent. Finally, we had to try one of the Fried Pies and we decided to give the Strawberry a try. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and was absolutely the perfect way to cap off our meal. My husband and I decided to try this new place with our two littles. The place was mostly empty when we arrived. I ordered the Pad Thai which was good, it just had a little more spice than I'm used to. My husband got a burger that was disgusting. They use the cheap American cheese slices on their burgers. The onion rings looked good until you picked them up and all the crispy goodness fell off. The service was poor. We waited forever for the server to come back to us. Our table was piled up with dishes and no one offered to clear them for us, we ordered dessert and once that arrived we had no space whatsoever. Dessert took a long time too, although it tasted pretty good. By the end our kids were crying and bored with how long everything took and there were only 4 tables full of customers so I dont know why it took so long. It was the worst meal. My boyfriend asked hamburger to be med rare. The waitress said no. Then hamburger was like a hockey puck. I ordered the catfish meal. The fish was cook so hard. I could not bite into it. The white beans were like mush. The slaw was good. Now the waitress was not any help. I asked for silverware, she went and got it and instead of handing it to me she though it in a cup. It's so unsanitary, they leave their silver.Ware in a cup on the table so everybody can touch it.
