RECENT REVIEW…NOT 3 YEARS AGO!! Also check Yelp Reviews in the last year !!
Where do I start... Let's start with the owner is nice until she receives her deposit... which is NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of the circumstances. (It's in her "contract" that seems to be where she can say "not in the contract"- I will elaborate on that in the review.) To keep it short... OWNER is NOT PROFESSIONAL/FRIENDLY past paying your money. I do not live in Nashville but chose the venue after having a nice brunch with friends. I came back to town (drove 3.5 hrs.) to do last minute walkthrough for planning in which she was aware I was coming and the reason I was coming. She did not make herself available for questions AT ALL. Her statement was that I did not let her know I needed time with her. REALLY!! We talked 1 week prior to my event and I was told that "according to the contract" the area would be ready for decorations and would be available at 4:00pm. When we arrived to decorate at 3:55pm... The room smelled musty and wet, there was a staff member mopping, and the decorations from an event 1 WEEK prior to mine WAS STILL OUT!! I attempted to text and call the owner 4 times with no response!!! So, we were left to our own devices to CLEAN UP AFTER A PARTY A WEEK AGO!! It took us an hour just to clean up to prepare for my event. NO HELP FROM THE STAFF!! Oh yeah, the manager dropped a box at 4:30p and wasn't seen again until 7:00p... the start time for my event.
I wasn't able to do all of the balloon features for my party because I spent AN HOUR cleaning up!! At this time... still...NO WORD FROM THE OWNER!! We managed to get 90% of the decorations done. We were 1.5 hrs. late for the event!! I DON'T LIKE BEING LATE WHEN I HAVE 100 guests attending and they were there waiting.
As the party goes on... I hear that the owner FINALLY came down about 8:05p!! I didn't make it until 8:30p. Not wanting to spoil the mood of the event I avoided the owner until I saw BUNDLED PLASTIC PLATES AND PLASTIC FLATWARE WRAPPED IN PLASTIC beside my $500 cake!! FURIOUS I found the owner upstairs SITTING looking DISSHEVELD and asked that she place real China by the cake. She called out to me but I continued to walk and ignore her as she had me ALL DAY!! She later told me "You didn't ask for China in the contract for the cake." REALLY!! SHE DIDN'T SERVE THE FOOD I SELECTED FROM HER MENU ON PLASTIC PLATES and PLASTIC FLATWARE!!
Parties end... I attempted to speak to the owner to inform her of how dissatisfied I was with the events of the evening and was told that I was the ONLY person who'd ever complained and dismissed me by putting her hand up in my face, turning, and walking away. I then stated that as a business owner it is her responsibility to make sure the client is happy and was told.."NO... I OWN THE PLACE... I DON'T HAVE TO!! I HAVE STAFF THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT!! {SHE IS YELLING AT ME!!} My response was "the same staff that was here at 4:00pm when I arrived and tried calling you and you didn't respond? Her words to me were... You called me at 3:55pm!!
Well, statement was PROOF that she got my calls and text and CHOSE to ignore them and me!!!
DON'T DO BUSINESS HERE!!!
BEAUTIFUL VENUE!!!!... BUT THE OWNER HAS A HORRIBLE ATTITUDE!!!! A wolf in sheep's clothing....
Read moreMy husband and I got married at Lighthouse on the Lake in October of 2021 and after looking back at photos and reminiscing, I realized I never left a review for this incredible venue. From start to finish, Jewell, the owner, and her entire team made our wedding truly unforgettable. Jewell's warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our day was perfect.
The cake and desserts, created by the incredibly talented baker on her staff, were not only delicious but also beautifully designed. She went above and beyond by crafting a separate cake for my parents’ anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The chef prepared an exquisite menu that had our guests raving about the food long after the event, especially the Whis-tea, that we are still dreaming about even after living in Texas for the last couple of years. The DJ kept everyone on their feet, curating a fantastic playlist that perfectly matched the vibe of our celebration. And the decorator—oh, the decorator! She transformed our vision into reality, creating the perfect setting that truly took our breath away.
I couldn’t have asked for a better team to bring our dream wedding to life. Thank you, Jewell, and everyone involved, for making our special day so magical...
Read moreOn December 9, 2023 Alexis created our dream wedding reception for thirty of our closest family and friends. She transformed the lower level of the Lighthouse into an amazing candle lit room with fresh flowers and gold leaves she spray painted. Alexis made a round wooden sign with our last name and wedding date. Roses, hydrangeas, and fresh pine branches graced all the tables in square glass vases. Wide gold ribbon and balls covered the side tables and cake table in the same theme with details we never imagined. There were so many touching signs in just the right areas. Jewel was there to calm everyone when our guests' phones were lighting up with tornado warnings. The electricity went out and emergency lights created just the right amount of light to allow everyone to eat dinner. Jewel and her staff had kept the delicious dinner warm until the worst was over. We would have liked to have had more time to visit with our guests instead of sheltering by the back wall of the room we were in. But, ultimately it was a night to remember and one we will never forget. Thanks to Alexis, Jewel and her husband for keeping us all safe and making sure the tornados in Tennessee did not distract from our once in a lifetime...
