I’ve been going to this place for well over a year but today might just be my last. I’m hoping someone might be able to clear up my confusion because the people working inside were no help.
Good food and generous portions but be sure to confirm their website matches their in house prices. They were able to honor the price online which I was grateful for. I ordered the spaghetti with calamari and unfortunately, the entire dish tasted old, fishy and beyond chewy. I had 3 bites before calling it quits. I was unable to call last night to see about a refund / different dish because they were closed so I came on my lunch break to show them the dish and see if I could order something different.
The manager on duty seemed very annoyed that I had an issue with my order, did not apologize and was curt with me. I was a bit shocked as typically, they have a lovely demeanor. I asked for a baked lasagna instead.
Upon receiving my order, the portion was cut by over half. It barely makes a full meal and for the $21 I dropped here, it seems very rude.
I’ve had multiple different dishes here and nothing was this size. It felt like a slap to the face and condescending.
4 stars for the food here, 1 for the service as I’ve been a regular customer for some time but unfortunately, not anymore if they are going to treat people this way.
It wasn’t my fault that your prices didn’t match your website, and not my fault the food was inedible.
Am I misunderstanding...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews, however as someone in the food service business I feel as though it's important to leave constructive criticism (especially when I work in a greek/italian restaurant). I ordered the Spanakopita appetizer and a side greek salad while my boyfriend ordered a Philly Cheesteak sandwich and fries. The Spanakopita was very dry, had no feta cheese and you could tell was frozen. The salad was great, however there were olives on it which I had asked to not be included. This was also served in a to-go container which I've never seen served for dine-in purposes in my life. Instead we were given plates and had to put it on the plates ourselves. This personally just screams laziness to me and a lack of care on the kitchen's part. My boyfriend then received his meal and although he ate it he did admit it was not something he'd return for, and I felt the same way about mine. Then came out our desert, we ordered the Baklava and Cheesecake. I only have one word for it, FROZEN! Whether it was made in house or not it had been frozen for some time before it got to us, the phyllo dough was soggy and the bottom crust was a very hard, tar like consistency. The only fresh thing that we seemed to be served tonight was the salad and the fries. Overall, very disappointing for $40 of food. We sadly will not...
Read moreI hate to give bad reviews to any small business, especially when it comes to things that are so dependent on individual tastes and preferences as food is. However, when a restaurant uses a specific food in the name of their business, i.e., Bob’s Burgers, Pancakes by Patty, Marino’s Pizza, etc., they need to be able to at least do that one thing really, really well. In my opinion (and we all know what opinions are like), Marino’s missed the mark.
So far, I’ve tried the pizza (which was a huge disappointment) and the cheesesteak sub which was passable but nothing I’d go back for. But the pizza was what sealed the coffin on Marino’s for me. Even fresh out of the oven, it had the look of a tired next day pizza. They’re obviously cutting corners on cheese, dough, and sauce - the entire foundation of a good pizza. Or maybe they just ran out of the good stuff and mine was made with the backups?
Obviously, they have folks that do enjoy their pizza, so you can take my review for what it’s worth. I just know that I...
